单纯电影本身，十分克制朴素描述家庭父辈子辈间的“社交”，过于客气客套，真正没多少关心，“早知道在世的时候就好好对她了呢”，真正的亲情爆发反而是守寡的儿媳妇。联系起导演生平，45年战败不过8年，又一个抗战时期。十六年前小津在上海南京，想必做了许多不可言说之事，或许正是因此才有了洁癖，拍出如此“干净”的家庭片吧。

当年为了这部片子特地买来DVD，家里却放不了。之后一直没心情看。真的妙啊，旁白+破败之家有一种去年在马里昂巴德之感；更妙的是卡司，一种元映射，谁知演员在演谁，真正默片时代的大牌们，甚至是有过合作的名导名角；最后10分种口碑两极，一团白雾后进入到对名气极致的渴望，对摄像机的彻底异化，stroheim站在导演位置就足够震撼，和结尾名场面更起鸡皮疙瘩；50年代的编剧们拯救不了过气明星，只是因为其被锁定在的默片时代，似乎是一种结界了
