BBC纪录片 Documentary telling the story of what happened to blues music on its journey from the southern states of America to the heart of British pop and rock culture, providing an in-depth look at what this music really meant to a generation of kids desperate for an antidote to their experiences of living in post-war suburban Britain. Part two, Sittin' on Top of the World, charts the birth of the first British blues boom in the early 60s, spearheaded by the Rolling Stones and groups such as the Yardbirds, Manfred Mann, the Animals and the Pretty Things. The final section, Crossroads, looks at the next, more hardcore British blues boom of the mid-to-late 60s, with guitarists Eric Clapton and Peter Green and the international dominance of their respective bands, Cream and Fleetwood Mac. Featuring archive performances and interviews with Keith Richards, Paul Jones, Chris Dreja, Bill Wyman, Phil May, John Mayall, Jack Bruce, Mick Fleetwood, Ian Anderson, Tony McPhee, Mike Vernon, Tom McGuinness, Mick Abrahams, Dick Taylor, Val Wilmer, Chris Barber, Pete Brown, Bob Brunning, Dave Kelly and Phil Ryan.

s part of the Dangerous Pleasures season, this three-part series looks at the biological process behind three of the most commonly used recreational drugs - cannabis, cocaine and ecstasy. Using groundbreaking CGI this episode follows the effect of ecstasy on the human body. Over the past 30 years ecstasy has become one of the world's most notorious drugs. No other illegal substance has had such an effect on fashion, music and how we party. This film follows two recreational ecstasy users over one night .Through graphic effects the viewer is taken on a journey deep inside the human body and the programme explains exactly how this powerful substance takes effect on the user's vital organs. Through the tour of the human body, we learn about the fascinating and often surprising scientific reasons for how these drugs work and also the damage they can cause. The programme features interviews with toxicologists, neuro-scientists and medical pharmacologists who explain what actually happens in your body when you indulge, exploding a few myths in the process. With access to cutting edge research at the University of Chicago, we find out how ecstasy creates empathy in the user and how this could one day lead to the drug being used as a life-saving prescription medicine for use in therapy. The series also follows young people who use drugs recreationally and interviews former users who tell their cautionary tales. Whilst ecstasy is an enjoyable high for some, there are those for whom ecstasy is agony and the film tells their story too - a young woman who had to have a liver transplant after using the drug and a father whose 18-year-old daughter died from drinking too much water after taking ecstasy. Part of the Dangerous Pleasures season on BBC Three.

In 1985, Sunset Strip in Los Angeles gave birth to what would become one of the most successful and notorious rock bands of all time: Guns N’ Roses. Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler formed a band that would change the history of rock ‘n’ roll. They produced one of the greatest debut albums of all time and went on to play to countless millions. Always uncompromising, Guns N’ Roses are an essential band in the musical lexicon. Award-winning director Jon Brewer (B.B. King: The Life Of Riley and Nat King Cole: Afraid Of The Dark) tells the story of ‘The Most Dangerous Band In The World’ and how they came from playing bars on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles to stadiums across the world. The explosive rise of one of the most notorious bands of our times – it’s a story of sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll in excess. The film has been painstakingly compiled from a host of exclusive, never-before-heard interviews, and the early footage of Guns fan and friend Marc Canter. This raw, insightful and compelling documentary tells the story of how it all began and what really happened behind the scenes. The film features exclusive interviews with the likes of Steven Adler – drummer, Guns N’ Roses; Marc Canter – childhood friend of Slash from Guns N’ Roses; Vicky Hamilton – former manager of Guns N’ Roses; Saul Hudson (aka Slash) – lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses; Mario Maglieri – owner of The Rainbow and Whiskey A Go Go; Michael Monroe – lead singer of Hanoi Rocks; Matt Sorum – drummer of Guns N’ Roses; Tom Zutaut – A&R Executive who discovered and signed Guns N’ Roses.
