William Rory Gallagher was an Irish blues and rock guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer. Born in Ballyshannon, County Donegal, and brought up in Cork, Gallagher formed the band Taste in the late 1960s and recorded solo albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s. His albums have sold over 30 million copies worldwide.

At Fillmore East is a double live album by The Allman Brothers Band. The band's breakthrough success, At Fillmore East was released in July 1971. It ranks Number 49 among Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and remains among the top-selling albums in the band’s catalogue. It is often cited as being one of the most well-known live recordings in history. The original album was released in both conventional 2-channel stereo and 4-channel quadraphonic mixes.

How the West Was Won is a triple live album by the English rock group Led Zeppelin, released by Atlantic Records on Compact Disc on 27 May 2003, and DVD-Audio on 7 October 2003. These original performances are from the band's 1972 concert tour of the United States, recorded at the L.A. Forum on 25 June 1972 and Long Beach Arena on 27 June 1972.

It is their fourth album, reached #9 in the UK album charts and briefly dented the Billboard Top 200, peaking at #179. The album was recorded during the tour to promote their Doremi Fasol Latido album, which comprises the bulk of this set. In addition, there are new tracks ("Born To Go", "Upside Down" and "Orgone Accumulator") and the songs are interspersed by electronic and spoken pieces making this one continuous performance. Curiously, their recent hit single "Silver Machine" was excluded from the set, and only "Master of the Universe" remains from their first two albums. The Space Ritual show attempted to create a full audio-visual-cerebral experience, representing themes developed by Barney Bubbles and Robert Calvert entwining the fantasy of Starfarers in suspended animation travelling through time and space with the concept of the music of the spheres.[1] The performance featured dancers Stacia, Miss Renee and Tony Carrera, stage set by Bubbles,[2] lightshow by Liquid Len and poetry recitations by Calvert. On entering the venue, audience members were given a free programme[3] (reproduced on the 1996 remaster CD) featuring a short sci-fi story by Bubbles setting the band in a Starfarers scenario returning to Earth. The original release featured edits and overdubs, the sleeve notes explaining that "We had to cut a piece out of Brainstorm and Time We Left because they were too long", but the 1985 Space Ritual Volume 2 album contains the full unedited versions. A previously unheard edited version of "You Shouldn't Do That" (segued with an unlisted "Seeing It As You Really Are") from this concert was included on the 1976 Roadhawks compilation album, then subsequently included as a bonus track on the 1996 remaster CD. The full unedited version of the track can be found on the Hawkwind Anthology album. June 2007 saw another EMI remaster issue with different bonus tracks and DVD-audio. "Sonic Attack" had been written by sci-fi author Michael Moorcock, who often performed with the band when convenient and Calvert was unavailable. Here it is recited by Calvert and it was scheduled for single release, promotional copies being distributed in a cloth sleeve, but it never did receive a full release. In the Q & Mojo Classic Special Edition Pink Floyd & The Story of Prog Rock, the album came #8 in its list of "40 Cosmic Rock Albums"

张国荣于1976年参加丽的电视台主办的“亚洲业余歌唱比赛”，获香港区亚军而签约“丽的”成为艺人，正式展其璀璨的歌唱生涯。推出处女唱片《Day Dreaming》，又在两年后推出唱片《情人箭》，但都没有引起注目。在1983年，以《风继续吹》一炮走红。在1985年8月他展开了首次个人演唱会，连开十场。同期唱片也销量甚佳，1985年《为你钟情》和《LESLIE》，都可算是张国荣的成名大碟。1987年的《Summer Romance》和1988年的《Hot Summer》都在乐坛上大放异彩，令他事业全面走向最高峰。他在1988年1989年相继夺得最受欢迎男歌手奖，风头一时无两，与此同时，破纪录的23场演唱会也宣告张国荣在乐坛中已占有其一席之地。但在1989年，事业如日中天的张国荣宣布告别歌坛。当年他33岁，故在红馆连开33场告别演唱会。随即宣布“封咪”退出歌坛。 此张唱片收录了张国荣在这场演唱会上的精彩表现，歌迷切勿错过。

出生于1945年3月30日的艾力克莱普顿多采多姿的音乐生涯始自18岁时自组的Roosters，接着加入因培育出Eric Clapton、Jeff Beck、Jimmy Page这三大吉他手而被封为『传奇性的摇滚团体』的Yardbirds；1965年转往蓝调先驱John Mayall的Bluesbreakers乐团，翌年与Jack Bruce、Ginger Baker组成乐坛首支强力摇滚三人团Cream。1968年摇滚乐坛万众瞩目的第一支超级乐团Blind Faith诞生，艾力克莱普顿亦名列阵中，1970年再组Derek & The Dominos，但在这些团体转换期间，艾力克莱普顿也抽空帮约翰蓝侬(John Lennon)、Delanie & Bonnie抬轿伴奏。艾力克莱普顿虽然参加或组成过这幺多的团体，可是乐团寿命都不长，原因多是由于团员间意见不合或因为每位团员都大有来头导致自大的心理，于是艾力克莱普顿萌生单飞发行个人专辑不再组成大堆头乐团的意念。 1970年艾力克莱普顿正式推出首张个人同名专辑，不过同时他也为着Derek & The Dominos的团务繁忙。在该团解散与商业成绩不如以往加上感情因素的打击使艾力克莱普顿却沉溺于毒品之中，在朋友的关心之下历经3年才拋此恶习并且在伦敦彩虹剧院盛大展开他的重生演唱会，不论乐迷或是乐界好友像Pete Townshend、Steve Winwood…等等都欣见他重回舞台，后来这两场演唱会实况也曾发行CD。 1974年艾力克莱普顿发表的《461 Ocean Boulevard》不仅象征他走出阴影重新出发，在音乐上更跳脱以往只以蓝调为根基的摇滚而融入牙买加的雷鬼乐，使得风格焕然一新，其中一首翻唱自雷鬼宗师巴布马利(Bob Marley)的歌曲"I Shot The Sheriff"成为艾力克莱普顿唯一冠军单曲。在1974-81年间艾力克莱普顿几乎年年推出新作品，他长久建立的吉他风格也越发受人肯定与学习，这时期作品当以《461 Ocean Boulevard》以及1977年底发行的《Slowhand》专辑为代表，而《Slowhand》正是他参加Yardbirds以来的昵称，也是他吉他弹奏最为人称道的特质-感情跃然指尖，《Slowhand》专辑里的"Wonderful Tonight"应该是一般乐迷最熟知的一首抒情摇滚曲。司RSO（隶属Polydor旗下）的合约也终止，1982年RSO替他发行了精选集《Time Pieces》，收集了1970-79十年来11首代表单曲，也结束了艾力克莱普顿音乐生涯的前半段。 1982年艾力克莱普顿宣布加入华纳唱片公司，首先录制的是《Money And Cigarettes》专辑，制作人仍旧是长久以来的伙伴也是洛史都华的制作人Tom Dowd，因此乐风尚仍延续前作，并不像其它歌手因转换东家而风格丕变，Slide Guitar手Ry Cooder在专辑中鼎力相助是另一重大发现。单曲"I've Got A Rock N' Roll Heart"仍然顺利进入排行前20名。 1985年《Behind The Sun》专辑才算是蓝调风格转变的开始，因为他请到两位当红制作人，一位是带领创世纪合唱团成功跨入流行界、又以个人作品《No Jacket Required》得到葛莱美最佳专辑的菲尔柯林斯(Phil Collins)；另一位是重金属团范海伦(Van Halen)的制作人Ted Templeman。菲尔柯林斯着重节奏但基本上仍以艾力克莱普顿的吉他与蓝调根基为主； Ted Templeman则将他在范海伦1984专辑里成功运用键盘、合成器使他们得到商业上空前成功的经验带入《Behind The Sun》，发行的两首单曲"Forever Man"、"See What Love Can Do"都是他的大作，不过在商业上却没有范海伦优异的表现。而在伴奏乐手方面，托托合唱团(ToTo)的团员与佛利伍麦克(Fleetwood Mac)的Lindsey Buckingham都赶来相助，让这张专辑几乎成了音乐老将开同乐会一般。 一张风格相近的专辑《August》在1986年发行，主要还是菲尔柯林斯的制作（不过这次又将老友Tom Dowd找回来参与部份制作），延续着上张吉他合成器的尝试。其中翻唱另一位蓝调吉他手Robert Cray的"Bad Influence"和与提娜透纳(Tina Turner)合唱的"Tearing Us Apart"被认为是艾力克莱普顿在吉他之外，演唱上最令人激赏的歌曲。 艾力克莱普顿的下张专辑《Journeyman》让乐迷等待三年才发行，在这三年里艾力克莱普顿首先为梅尔吉布逊的卖座电影《致命武器》(Lethal Weapon)系列担任吉他伴奏，后来更因主题曲和史汀(Sting)、艾尔顿强(Elton John)合作。不过艾力克莱普顿参与整张电影配乐却是米基洛克(Mickey Rourke)的《铁拳浪子》(Homeboy)，这是他与配乐大师Michael Kamen携手之作。另一方面以前的唱片公司也因他在乐坛闯荡25年为他发行一系列的精选集，其中最受瞩目的是记录他各个时期（1963-88）创作的四张一套全集《Crossroads》，众多乐评纷纷给予最高评价。 1989年底《Journeyman》发行，制作人换为以吉他起家的Russ Titleman，试图捕捉艾力克莱普顿赖以成名的吉他之音，不过整张专辑摇滚／流行味颇浓，伴奏阵容上加入David Sanborn的萨克斯风、Gary Burton的铁琴以增加融合爵士风味。合音部份Phil Collins、Chaka Khan、Daryl Hall、George Harrison都前来跨刀，使歌曲呈现不同风貌。 艾力克莱普顿漫长的音乐历程与居高不坠的名声有一半来自现场精湛的吉他表演，进入九○年代后的第一张专辑就是他1990-91年间于伦敦皇家亚伯厅的多场现场实况纪实《24 Nights》，当然在此之前他已经发行过将近十套的现场专辑，艾力克莱普顿喜欢现场即兴表演由此证明。 1991年3月老来得子的艾力克莱普顿痛失骨肉，年仅4岁的Conor从窗户失足坠楼，这个打击几乎让他再度一蹶不振，不过将近50岁的艾力克莱普顿将他思念之苦寄情歌中，于是产生"Tears In Heaven"这首歌，它首先被收录于电影《迷途枷锁》(Rush)的原声带中，这也是艾力克莱普顿全程参与的配乐作品。 在1992年发行单曲后很快得到白金唱片并蝉联亚军，同年3月份他录制MTV音乐台相当受欢迎的不插电小型演唱会（Unplugged）时再度表演此曲，不论是现场或是后来发行的《Unplugged》专辑，大家都深切感受到艾力克莱普顿发自肺腑真情演唱。 1992年发行的这张《Unplugged》专辑不仅是该年度葛莱美『最佳专辑』得主，也是MTV Unplugged专辑中商业销售最佳的一张。自此之后许多知名的歌手纷纷答应MTV音乐台邀请到现场证明自己不靠录音室特殊技巧处理的演唱实力。此专辑里另一首名曲"Layla"也三度进榜并且进入前20名，在葛莱美奖中继"Tears In Heaven"得到『年度歌曲』与『年度唱片』后，拿下『最佳摇滚歌曲』奖。 艾力克莱普顿音乐的根来自于年代久远的黑人蓝调，自Robert Johnson以降Elmore James、Muddy Waters、B.B. Television were generally regarded as the precise and arty guys of the original New York punk scene -- enough so that some have (rather pointlessly) questioned just what they had to do with the punk rock aesthetic -- but while the clean lines and gleaming surfaces of Marquee Moon and Adventure might have inspired such thought, the band's live show told a different story. While they lacked the bash-it-out ferocity of the Ramones or the Dead Boys, on-stage Television played a lot harder and looser than they did in the studio; the guitar interplay between Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd gained much grit and muscle (and Lloyd was given significantly more space to show what he could do), and drummer Billy Ficca and Fred Smith weren't afraid to turn up the heat and add greater color and body to the songs. While the splendid "authorized bootleg" The Blow-Up is likely to remain the definitive document of Television's awe-inspiring live prowess, Live at the Old Waldorf -- a professional recording of a 1978 San Francisco date on the band's last tour before their 1992 reunion -- runs a very close second, and the superior sound quality allows one to better appreciate the subtle textures lurking beneath Verlaine and Lloyd's Stratocaster firepower. The Blow-Up preserves a longer and more enthusiastic performance from Television, while Live at the Old Waldorf finds them playing for a rather chilly away-from-home audience, but the band seems determined to show just what it can do, and these versions of "The Dream's Dream," "Little Johnny Jewel," and "Marquee Moon" are pure joy for guitar aficionados. Rhino Handmade are to be congratulated for finally giving this oft-bootlegged recording the authorized release it deserves, and providing still more evidence of Television's enduring brilliance and innovation -- 25 years after this set was played, Live at the Old Waldorf still sounds fresher and more exciting than most anything you're likely to see at a rock club on a given evening. ~ Mark Deming, All Music Guide
