The narrated film describes the adventures and misadventures of a group of tadpoles in search of their mother.

Yuangong, the deacon, opened the shrine and exposed the holy book to the human world. He also carved the contents of the book on the stone wall of white cloud cave in the mountains. He is now punished to guard the book for life by the jade emperor for breaking heaven's law and betraying the holy secret to human. In order to pass this holy book to human beings, he would have to get by the antagonist fox.

窗外冰天雪地，小白兔的家却因有火非常温暖。兔妈妈发现吃的萝卜只剩很小的一个时，准备出门去找，小白兔吵嚷着也要去，兔妈妈担心它受冷感冒，要它安心呆在屋里烤火，小白兔觉得一个人在家很没有意思，兔妈妈想出堆个雪孩子陪它玩的办法。
雪孩子堆好后，母子两个又精心将它装扮了一番，小白兔有了漂亮的玩伴，不再喊着要跟妈妈一块去找萝卜。小白兔和雪孩子玩耍了好大一会，发现雪孩子很冷，便邀请它进屋烤火，雪孩子忙摆手，小白兔恍然大悟它是不怕冷的。后来，火烧着了小白兔的房子，雪孩子为救小白兔，奋不顾身地冲进了房子里。

有一个外号邋遢大王的小男孩，他特别邋遢，不讲卫生，信奉“不干不净，吃了没病”。这天，鼠王想征服人类、称霸世界，于是想找个人来当他的细菌武器的试验品。鼠国密探看中了邋遢大王，因为只有他会吃不干净的东西，于是，邋遢大王喝了被老鼠下了药的橘子水后，身子变成了和老鼠一样大小，被老鼠密探骗到了老鼠王国！来到老鼠王国后，邋遢大王真正感到后悔了，想回家却又无奈被关了起来。幸好邋遢大王认识的好友小猫小狗把鼠博士准备在他身上做实验的换掉了，邋遢大王才逃过一劫。邋遢大王最终能否逃出鼠国？
