「給我一支貓」，是一部反映台灣社會荒謬現實與導演奇幻狂想的愛情電影。鐵雄是業餘作家，筆下的人物黑樹深信自己是日本人投胎轉世的，黑樹一事無成，最常做的事是與流浪貓在屋頂上曬太陽睡覺，一天貓不見了，貓託夢給黑樹說牠到遠方打工去了，黑樹突然覺得自己也該找份工作，誤打誤撞的加入一個叫「夢中見」的讀書會。一天他們接到富商預約的生意－他喪禮上的樂隊，然而成員中沒有人會樂器，大家只有開始勤奮的練習，黑樹無意中在家裡看到一片偷拍光碟，女主角貌似自己的母親，隔天他知道母親懷孕了，同時又出現一位自稱是來自未來世界的弟弟，告訴他前些日子遇到的路邊停車收費工讀生－養樂多是他未來的妻子。黑樹的偶像－電視新聞女主播透過螢幕對他講話，他們將遭國家秘密暗殺以達到政府優生計劃，女主播不時指點黑樹如何成為社會精英，逃避這場災難。 在上個世紀的最後一天，黑樹與養樂多甜蜜的等待死亡來臨，一切的秘密在千禧夜終於有了答案與驚喜。

淡淡的台湾音乐电影，里面哼唱着陈绮贞清新的歌声。这是一部寓言式的电影，通过女孩小爱（陈绮贞 饰）的眼睛，童话般的剧情，告诉人们生活的真谛。传说每个星球都有白蚁的身影，他们会挖出一条能够贯穿地心的隧道。等隧道一挖通，星球就开始向内收缩凹陷，最终结束了它的生命。女孩小爱听到了外面世界呼唤自己成长的声音。于是，就有了这些小故事：花朵出走、婉约地逃逸、低气压逆袭、遇见白蚁哲学家……

向来沉默的少女蝴蝶（柯佳嬿）在跨年的那一晚来到热闹的PUB，狂欢的人群中，遇见了也来此逃避现实的立翔（莫子仪），在借喧哗暂时将自己麻醉的人群里，只有蝴蝶读出了立翔的孤独，当两人心的距离越来越近时，立翔发现蝴蝶的沉默不是缘于惯性，而是因听力障碍。 PUB的另一角，与蝴蝶断了音讯的好友小惠（张榕容）在找寻蝴蝶的过程中，与男友耗子（柯宇纶）历经了一场迷幻奇妙的旅程。而命运因蝴蝶和立翔的相遇被牵动了的，除了小惠与耗子，尚有其它六位男女。

台北的每个晚上一群年轻人都在歌舞厅内夜夜笙歌，一夜情、吃迷幻药，喝酒狂欢每天都是他们沉迷的东西。刚回台北的Eva（杨谨华 饰）坚守着爱情的信念，十分抗拒婚前性行为，她的朋友Cindy白天是上班族，晚上则是十分豪放的一夜情女王。后来Eva跟在唱片公司工作的Ben，两人同居，可是Eva就是无法接受婚前性行为，Ben只好找Cindy解决生理需要。被Eva知道后只好忍痛离开。其实Cindy一直喜欢的是卖毒品的小马（黄立行 饰），小马患有癌症末期的父亲离世，Cindy也表达了对小马多年的情感。 他们身边的朋友，为生活、为需要、为开心、为自己寻找着自己最喜欢的生活方式，成为了都市中的一个缩影。
