Anthology 3 is a compilation album by the Beatles, released on 28 October 1996 by Apple Records as part of The Beatles Anthology series. The album includes rarities and alternative tracks from the final three years of the band's career, ranging from the initial sessions for The Beatles (better known as "the White Album") to the last sessions for Let It Be and Abbey Road in 1969 and early 1970. It is the last in a trilogy of albums with Anthology 1 and Anthology 2, all of which tie in with the televised special The Beatles Anthology.

3 LP set. The most anticipated of the Anthology series, this disc covers what was arguably the Fab Four's most intensely creative period ('65-'67) when they single-handedly changed the course of popular music. Anthology 2 doesn't disappoint. Outtakes and demos show the building of songs like "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite," while the pure pop song writing of Rubber Soul and Help! is also documented, along with the sonic experimentation that characterized Revolver. Even if the legendary proto-metal jam of "What's the New Mary Jane" didn't see the light of day here, there is plenty for any Beatles fan. EMI. 2005.

Anthology 1 is a compilation album by the Beatles, released on 20 November 1995 by Apple Records as part of The Beatles Anthology series. It features rarities, outtakes and live performances from the period 1958–1964, including songs with original bass player Stuart Sutcliffe and drummer Pete Best. It is the first in a trilogy of albums with Anthology 2 and Anthology 3, all of which tie in with the televised special The Beatles Anthology. It contains "Free as a Bird", billed as the first new Beatles song in 25 years. The album topped the Billboard 200 album chart and was certified 8x Platinum by the RIAA.
The Anthology albums were remastered and made available digitally on the iTunes Store on 14 June 2011, individually and as part of the Anthology Box Set.

1969年1月30日，作为《get back》计划的一部分， Beatles原定有一场公开演出。至于1月30日在苹果公司楼顶上的演出，是临时计划的。一方面Beatles成员中除了麦卡特尼一人在坚持着，其他成员对于《get back》冗长的拍摄与制作早已失去了性质，乐队经纪人的矛盾之争，苹果工作运作的混乱都导致着乐队随时分崩离析可能。加上导演麦克林赛也想尽快结束《get back》记录片的制作，1月30日，据传是林格，也可能是哈里森或者麦卡特尼，提出就在苹果公司楼顶上搞一场演出。于是乐队临时起意就定在楼顶表演。但是在电梯间，林格和哈里森打起了退堂鼓，但最后乐队还是都到达了楼顶临时搭建的舞台。
尽管在《get back》制作期间，乐队成员之间口角不断，哈里森和列侬还一度大动干戈，乐队经纪人的选择上成员矛盾重重，麦卡特尼也多次公开侮辱过屡次干扰排练的列侬的新欢小野洋子，但1969年1月30日的寒风中，作为Beatles乐队自1966年以来首次，也是最后一次的公开演出中，乐队成员的表现绝对是摇滚史上现场表演的扛鼎之作。
尽管屋顶现场任然只是为get back提供录音和录影的素材，但是演出中我们仍然可以看到乐队成员表演的投入，诸如约翰列侬少见的挂满一脸自信的微笑，与自信满满的麦卡特尼眉目传情，这一幕自结束世界巡演之后，已是多年未见。尽管表演之后的不久，乐队就名存实亡，但是麦卡特尼与约翰列侬眼神互动中那种几乎是来自血亲的默契与深情，在40年后的今天，人们仍然能从当年的史料找找到佐证。
这场演出尽管没有以音频形式公开发行，但是在beatles不多的现场记录中，已是万千歌迷心中的瑰宝。在聆听时把音量加大吧，尽管再也回不去五光十色的1969年，但是在beatles摇摆的节奏中，Get Back的乐声在风中依然清晰可辨。

But hearing is believing! The guys have pushed back the boundaries and come up with a brand-new work that will add to the enduring legacy of the band. The result is an amazing album that not only reinforces the timeless quality of the group's recordings--the fans will have fun enjoying the roller-coaster experience of the album whilst trying to spot where all the pieces come from--it is also destined to open up a new legion of fans to the Beatles experience.

Deleted in the U.S.! The only single taken from the Fab Four 's 1996 collection 'Anthology Volume 2'. It's backed with three exclusive non-album tracks, a live version of 'Baby's In Black' from 1965 at the Hollywood Bowl, plus 'Yellow Submarine' (Unreleased Version) and 'Here, There & Everywhere' (Unreleased Version). This was the second 'reunion' track to feature the three remaining members voices electronically overdubbed to John Lennon's original vocals. EMI.
