"The Sound of Silence" is the song that propelled the 1960s folk music duo Simon & Garfunkel to popularity. It was written in February 1964 by Paul Simon in the aftermath of the 1963 assassination of John F. Kennedy. An initial version preferred by the band was remixed and sweetened, and has become known as "the quintessential folk rock release". In the U.S., it was the duo's second most popular hit after "Bridge Over Troubled Water". The song features Simon on acoustic guitar and both singing. It was originally recorded as an acoustic piece for their first album Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M. in 1964 but on the initiative of the record company's producer, Tom Wilson, it was later overdubbed with drums (Bobby Gregg), electric bass (Bob Bushnell) and electric guitar (Al Gorgoni), all without the knowledge or participation of Simon & Garfunkel and rereleased as a single in September 1965.[3][4] The single reached number one on New Year's Day 1966 and was included in the 1966 album Sounds of Silence. "The Sound of Silence" was originally called "The Sounds of Silence" and is titled that way on the early albums in which it appeared and on the first single release; only on later compilations was it retitled "The Sound of Silence". Both the singular and the plural appear in the lyrics. In his book Lyrics 1964–2008 Simon has the title in the singular.

岩井俊二監督の映画“Swallowtail Butterfly”（9/14～全国ロードショー）ｋCharaが役名グリコで主演しますが、そのグリコが、作って成功を収めるのｋYen Town Band。このアルバムはその架空のYEN TOWN BANDのレコードということになります。もちろん先行シングル“Swallowtail Butterfly～あいのうた～”を含み全8曲収録予定。4曲Chara作曲、3曲小林武史氏作曲、プロデュース、アレンジは小林武史氏。レコーディングはレニークラビッツで有名なウォーターフロントスタジオで行われました。

本片讲述的是，一个名叫理查的年轻剧作家在一次剧作演出大获成功后的答谢宴会上，意外遇上了一位他此前从未见过的、白发苍苍的老妇人，她强行塞给他一只精美绝伦的古董金表，然后对他说了一句让他当时极为莫名其妙的话：“回到我身边来！” 八年后，这个理查终于发现，原来他和那个已于八年前的当晚过世的老妇人，实实在在地有着千丝万缕的联系，于是他最终决定，放弃现代文明的高科技生活，心甘情愿地选择了时光倒流七十年，与那七十年前的老妇人相遇…… 这是一个悲情故事，但又浪漫得像一部成人的童话。片中许多细节都非常感人，如影片即将结束时的一些空镜头，十分出色地把男主人公那欲哭无泪的心死凄迷，渲染得极为淋漓尽致，让广大的观众也恨不能为之同声一哭！ 《Somewhere In Time 时光倒流七十年》的主题曲最终和本片一样成为了经典，它的完整题名为《帕格尼尼主题狂想曲》，是一支温柔多情、缠绵悱恻的钢琴协奏曲。此曲是俄罗斯作曲家拉赫马尼诺夫于1934年完成的一首钢琴与管弦乐作品，根据意大利小提琴家帕格尼尼第24首小提琴随想曲的主题而作，编号43。这首乐曲被导演拿来作为一件重要的音乐道具，起到了跨越时空、在男女主人公之间沟通心灵的作用。 后来还据说，本片中的音乐主题是 John Barry 自己创造的，片中不过是用到了《怕格尼尼主题狂想曲》中那段非常著名的十八变奏（如男主角第一次在墙上看到画像时）。 而最最不可思议的是据以前看过的一本书上讲，John Barry 的主题是将拉赫的十八变奏的五线谱上以某一线为中心，将上下的音符翻转过来，就成了这一同样动人的主题。想想绝对是不可思议！ 本片最终获得当年多项奥斯卡提名，虽然最后几乎是一无所获，但完全无损于它的经典地位。 最难忘的时刻：两人历尽磨难终于幸福地在一起了，并无限憧憬地畅想着两人美好的未来，然而，就在那极为美好的早餐时刻，乐极生悲的理查突然在1902年的当时，从他那由现代社会穿过来的、他特意参考历史资料订做的古式西装口袋里，极为意外地掏出了一枚清楚无比地写着“1972”字样的硬币！于是，在女主人公撕心裂肺的凄厉呼喊中，理查“愀”地一声，回到了……500年前？不，是70年后，1972年！：） 从此两人古今相隔，幸福的光景不复再现。想想那可怜的女人一直要苦等七十年后才能再见到她心爱的男人，并在再见到他（而他当时还不认识她）的当晚孤独地去逝，让人怎不为之痛掬一把同情之泪呢！

The modestly budgeted film about a music teacher in a post-war France who wins over the troubled students at a boarding school arrived in French theatres last summer with little advance hype. Defying industry expectations, this affecting tale proceeded to break box-office records. 「永遠的一天」是希臘導演Theo Angelopoulos的作品，描述一位老者晚年生活，藉由一封信引發過去的記憶，在錯落的片段生活裡，交雜著記憶的回溯。這部意境深遠的影片，也同時為他贏得了1998年坎城影展金棕櫚最佳影片獎。 導演以其一貫的詩意風格和類魔幻寫實的手法，陳述老者行至生命終極的感觸，老者看似漫長的現實生活其實短暫，那些逝去的過往，反而在追憶的瞬間，被停滯的時空無限延伸，追憶似水年華瞬間亦是永恆…… 希臘女作曲家Eleni Karaindrou與Angelopoulos的合作，自八O年代中期開始至今，累積長達十數年的默契；能將Angelopoulos影片中深沈的人文反思氣息，藉由音符完整呈現出來的，也非Karaindrou莫屬。在Angelopoulos的電影中，人物常是巨大歷史構圖中一抹微小的身影，是游移的大氣中一絲微弱的嘆息。許是合作已久，Karaindrou連音樂起伏的呼吸都與其影像近似，甚至有風格疊合之處。 這張專輯也不例外，它延續了影片一貫深沉的疏離，器樂選擇上以黑管和豎笛為主體，映襯淡雅的弦樂旋律。影像與音樂的對位時而喜悅時而低盪，形成矛盾的張力。銅管的沈重與弦樂的閒逸代表詩人的沈重遲暮與活力青春，在夢境中持續對話，老者忽忽悠悠的夢境，彷彿就從這些音符間隙中緩緩蔓延開來…… 除了類似迴旋曲形式反覆夢境之外迭宕的旋律，Karaindrou也適時選用了部分希臘傳統民謠，專輯裡並收錄片中老詩人的獨白，闡述對生命深沈的思索，在這樣的音樂背景中，獨具另一番動人魅力。 安氏曾經形容Karaindrou的音樂為「電影裡沒有流出來的血」

Bohemian Rhapsody: The Original Soundtrack is the soundtrack album to the 2018 biographical film of the same name. The soundtrack features several Queen songs and unreleased recordings including several tracks from their legendary performance at Live Aid in 1985.[6] The soundtrack was released by Hollywood Records and Virgin EMI Records on 19 October 2018, on CD, cassette and digital formats.[7][8] The soundtrack was later released on 8 February 2019, as a vinyl double album specially cut at Abbey Road Studios. A rare double picture disc edition of the album, as well as a 7" coloured single featuring the original "Bohemian Rhapsody"/"I'm in Love with My Car" pairing, was also released on Record Store Day, 13 April 2019.[9] In November 2019 the soundtrack received an American Music Award for Top Soundtrack.[10]
