Reinterpreting songs from centuries-old songbooks, Luar Na Lubre has brought the musical traditions of Galicia, a Celtic region in northwestern Spain, to the international stage since 1986. The recipients of the Ideal award as Best Galician Folk Group awarded by the region's leading newspapers, El Ideal Gallego, the band continues to reinvent the music of their homeland. Formed in 1986 in the small city of A Coruna, Luar Na Lubre has made its greatest impact in collaboration with British musician and composer Mike Oldfield, who they met in 1992. In addition to covering piper and bandleader Bietto Romero's song "O Son Do Ar," Oldfield invited vocalist Rosa Cedron to make a guest appearance at his Tubular Bells III concert in London and the band to join him on a world tour. The increased exposure enabled the group to earn their first gold disc with their 1997 album, Plenilunio.

"Whom The Moon A Nightsong Sings" is a compilation of rare value – not only because of the fact that this is one of the few conceptual compilations that are based around a central theme and where the choice of artists present was subjected to a rigid selection. No, "Whom The Moon A Nightsong Sings" is a two-CD collection with a playing time of over 100 minutes that unites all the main players and the most promising newcomers of a nameless genre that is defined by (mostly) acoustic musical settings of nature's sceneries and impressions, or of personal sentiments mirrored in nature. This profound respect and a deeply romantic magical and mystical perception of nature are the common denominator of all the featured artists and the thematic foundation of their contributions. The fact that nearly all of the songs included here are either exclusive to this project or rare tracks that aren't otherwise available anymore serves to emphasize the extraordinary character of this release.

One of the highlights on "Whom The Moon A Nightsong Sings" is certainly Empyrium's contribution – the ensemble's first new recording in four years and the impressive beginning of a new creative period. Also featured are the genre's founding fathers, Ulver, with a very rare recording from 1997: their track 'Synen' was only featured on a very limited underground compilation and is probably the Norwegians' most sought-after song. The contributions by bands such as October Falls, Nest, or Neun Welten – artists who have forged the genre's identity in the last ten years and have become major points of reference for lovers of dark, nature-attuned acoustic music – or by as-yet unknown quantities such as the British project Nhor or Syven from Finland are also delivering the goods and certainly bear comparison with the genre's founding fathers. 天宝十年（公元751年）秋，杜甫只身由蜀地抵京。长安城中秋风离离，落叶萧萧，满目秋索，连呼吸都透着彻骨的风寒。诗人衰骨支离，病卧旅次。时紧时疏的秋雨，凄迷不绝，更显得周天寒彻。屋外，逆旅的地上已积起一汪汪水潭。屋内，湿冷的木榻长出了一串串青苔，仿佛都要蔓延到身上了。“那一二旧友故人会来看我的吧”，诗人看着窗外那迷濛的雨幕想。这样想的时候，那颗枯冷的心似乎暖暖地跳了一下。
此后，雨来，便是故友，是知交，是冷寂秋夜里熨帖离人孤单的心的一壶热酒。
今春三月，我南下江城与白水、赵先生等故友相晤。我们白日放歌黑夜纵酒，荒唐恣肆癫狂顽劣，很是快意。临别的前日，白水陪我再去看一看岷江。那天阴霾深重江风刺骨，川南的初春竟好似北国的深秋。空旷的江畔只有一个瘦削的小姑娘在独自跑跳着玩耍，那孤寂的身影充斥于天地间，化为离愁别绪层层压在我们心头，仿佛浓浓的秋意。我们无语泪先流，如天空淅沥飘起雨来。归途中，我对白水说何不记录下这些呢，人生中此刻的友谊彼时的情绪。白水点点头，说“我也正在想这个”。
于是，有了《雨来》。所以，《雨来》是友情的寄予，是世间爱的承载，是漫漫人生中我们对当下春喜秋愁欢聚伤别的珍重。
花落春仍在。花开花落，流年似水，如花美眷于花落无声静水深流里成为鹤发鸡皮，心也在此间变得宁静岑寂，如呼吸里悠然淡远的花香。江对岸昂藏吼起的山歌惊飞了驻足窗台的雨燕，她们在微雨里呢喃盘旋着远去，在天空剪下依稀的翼影。是那个潦倒浊酒醉情山水交游禽鸟的痴汉吗？亦或那个狷狂落拓执著柳岸冥顽桃源的少僧呢？都是这一角南国水土孕育出的灵魄吧，他们驾御竹风飘逸雨中，是神仙的后代。
雨似乎从那个秋夜起就没有停过。夜如秋水，那寒意层层浸濡而来，仿佛要把人拉落水底。玉谿生独对烛光，恍如身在水中摇曳的孤筏。锈痕满布的铜镜里隐约的身影鬓已星星也。蹭蹬半世，如今又流落这巴山蜀地。院内池中干枯的荷叶被雨击打得噼啵作响，好似那日暝寂的花台寺里寥远的木鱼声，交织耳际，回荡在心底，一时烦嚣一时清宁。北国是否皓月当空，还是夜雨如斯？西窗烛影烁烁，你是否又弹起那具锦瑟，还是已经安睡？你的手冷吗？这缠绵的阶前雨该是你枕边滴落的相思泪吧？
春之落花与秋之夜雨都坠入在《雨来》里。《雨来》有魏晋风度，有晚唐气蕴，她是缱绻千年的一帘幽梦，是绵延古今的一曲骊歌。在这世界上所有的夜晚，无论繁星满天，无论残月半弯，无论灯火璀璨，无论晦暗无边，夜阑人静时，她都会在耳边响起，从时光之海的彼岸，轻轻地一遍遍地吟唱，她唱着：雨来，来，来，跟我来……

2005年一老带一新的黑暗民谣专辑，由老将Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio和新秀Spiritual Front合作完成，当然除了第一首和最后一首是两个乐队合作的作品外，其余六首是两个乐队各自的作品拼盘在一起。黑潮乐队有频频合作的传统，其实这两个乐队不凑在一起出个什么作品的话那才叫奇怪呢，知道这两个乐队的人们大部分都是被其过分的性虐风格所熟悉，从专辑的名字“Satyriasis(男性色情狂)”也可窥看一斑。
Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio就是哥特文化所认为SM是人正常意识形态的创始人之一，这支来自瑞典的老牌黑暗民谣乐队是93年由两公婆(当然没结婚)Thomas Petterson和Chelsea组成，加盟CMI后ORE的作品就没和性欲、贪念分开过，而后两人分手后ORE由Thomas一人抗了下来，作品多以极具诱惑性的咏唱、启示录的形式来阐述自己的欲念思想，也被认为是黑民谣分支的天启民谣(Apocalyptic Folk)的代表人物。
而来自意大利的“后辈”Spiritual Front与ORE相比有过之而不及，乐队灵魂Simone Hellvis就在受宗教浸淫的罗马长大，从小的偶像就是右翼分子Boyd rice(英国黑民谣人物)以及上面提到的ORE，Hellvis标榜自己是一个“一个自杀流行歌曲的作者”，可见作品的阴暗性。由于作品的颓废和情色色彩太过浓重，他们的作品已在欧盟的大部分国家不得公开发售(其实禁不禁有都还是一样，想买的总会有办法买出来的)，这一点了充分的阐释了“长江后浪推前浪”的意义，甚至连ORE都自愧不如(起码没被禁)。
两人在2003年在一家俱乐部中相遇，两个色魔互相认出了对方，于是就有合作专辑的念头，而作品题材上的共识，使得两人无穷的意念源源不断的流淌出来，所以很快合作专辑Satyriasis在2005年由著名黑暗厂牌Cold Meat Industry发行，整张专辑有超过12名乐手加盟，两支乐队大量的虚无主义和性虐待元素为此专辑的黑暗定调。反正一切黑暗民谣所应有的东西——冷冰的人声、原始的吉他和粗砺的工业之音都被Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio和Spiritual Front诠释的如此细腻，这是对死亡、贪欲和性虐的美化作品，也是两支乐队的可怕的惑蛊之音。当你不由自主的屈从于他们的思想的时候，也就是他们笑的最响的时候。

Sava 2004年出的这张《Aire》也是不可多得的中古民谣精品。

第一次听到Belborn的音乐就被深深地吸引住了：那种慷慨激昂、决然赴死的日耳曼英雄情怀；那种徘徊怆恻，黯然神伤的中古幽情；那种对于祖国、故乡的深深眷恋和真诚赞颂，都为我们开启了一个异样而充满魔力的世界。
在Belborn的音乐里，旋律总是那么美好，令人心醉，鼓点简洁而有力，合成器创造出一种恍如隔世的空间感。而最迷人的是，Belborn主唱那直白而温暖的德语吟唱。与很多欧洲新民谣乐队不同，Belborn的所有歌曲都是以德语歌唱的。这植根于他们对德国文化的无限热爱与自豪感。正如他们在一次访谈中所说：“德国有着一个永恒的灵魂。”
Belborn由Holger F.和 Susanne H.夫妇二人组成。2000年，他们的小女儿诞生了，被取名为Skadi Lilja (the little queen)，并被他们认为是Belborn的第三位成员。Belborn的主唱Holger F.原来从事绘画，创作了很多带有异教色彩的作品以及德意志的伟大人物如尼采等人的肖像。同时他也自己创作一些非常黑暗、沉静的音乐。在遇到Susanne H.后，他们开始共同探索一种融合了巴伐利亚古民谣、现代忧郁民谣、德国古典英雄诗篇的新民谣音乐。Belborn这个名字，是他们创造的一个复合词。来源于“Beltane”（异教神的纪念日，也恰好是Holger的生日）和德语“Lebensborn”（意为生活，出生）的复合。这个名字也强调了Belborn既是一支乐队又是一个共同生活在一起的群体的含义。

Belborn的音乐主题，用Holger的话说，主要是关于忠诚、骄傲、荣誉、异教和对祖国的爱。Susanne认为Belborn的音乐代表某种已经丧失的浪漫及对古老时代的追念。而最根本的，就是对于德意志森林与故土的深情。Belborn认为，乡愁是人类最高贵的一种情感。它使一个人哪怕仅仅离开自己的乡土一周，就会在内心升起浓浓的思乡之情。因为祖国、家园意味着一些特定的景物、特定的人，它们早已在你的心中扎下了根。在Belborn看来，现代人是失去家园的人，他们为了一种没有意义的、倒错、沉闷的生活，丧失了自己内心的家园。在Belborn辗转徘徊、一唱三叹的音乐中，在Holger温暖而略带脆弱的歌唱中，我们都能深深感受到Belborn对于某种已经久逝的价值的追念与怅惘。
Belborn自出道以来已经推出了三张作品。2000年推出的同名专辑是一张非常优秀的作品集。在这张同名专辑里，从纯正忧伤的民谣风格的Weint Keine Traene到哀婉抒情、怀念故乡的Schwarze Glut，从气势恢宏，如英雄挽歌般的Heldentaten-heldengr Ber到金戈铁马、萧飒肃然的战争史诗Rueckmarsch Nach Vorn ，最后一曲以瞬间喷涌而出的一句话“Du Bist Mein!”（你是我的！！）结束。象征了爱情的凄苦与决然。整张专辑编曲浑然一体，旋律惊人的美，令人不由进入到生机盎然、气象万千的古日耳曼大地，骑士们驾驭烈马，挥舞长戈，为心爱的女子作生死斗。如醇酒般浓烈醉人，在酣然的快意中又能隐约触摸到死亡的阴冷与苍凉。我个人最喜欢的曲子就是Heldentaten-heldengr Ber。Belborn在访谈中曾经说道，这首歌的创作灵感首先来源于意大利恐怖电影大师达里奥?阿基多的代表作《地狱》。从《地狱》中，Holger获得了一个作为母亲的巫婆形象。同时，在创作这首歌时，Holger的脑子里不断出现曾经造访过的意大利阵亡士兵坟墓的形象。这些因素共同构成了这首歌的神秘与回环往复的效果。
随后，在同年，Belborn又推出了一张只收有两首作品的唱片Seelenruhe / Phoenix。Seelenruhe，意为“灵魂的休息”，它是关于欧洲历史上的捕捉女巫的事件并涉及了灵魂永存并将不断回返的异教信仰。Phoenix则通过神话中的鸟类凤凰来表达人内心的隐秘世界。
2001年，Belborn推出了专辑3 - Drei – Three。在一次访谈中，Belborn解释了为什么要用“3”作为专辑名称的原因。“3”既意味着Belborn的三位成员（包括他们心爱的小女儿Skadi Lilja），又象征着在异教信仰中的三位一体“产生－存在－消亡”。“3”同时又代表了永恒。Belborn说道，这张专辑的主题是关于“死亡与爱”。在保持了Belborn一贯的优美旋律的基础上，加入了一些新的采样与音效，在某些歌里可以听到神秘的背景声，还有叹息与哭泣。Belborn试图通过音乐及声响的细微转化来展示一种孤苦、失落的灵魂。专辑歌词的异教及神秘主义色彩更为强烈。Belborn认为，在光明存在之处，黑暗也并不遥远。而人类的路径永远不应该交叉。

NEBELUNG are a young band from Germany, their music flows from the whispers of nature till the gentleness of Creation. They showed us, how powerful it can be when you're use the term "less is more" correctly.
"Vigil" is the first fulltimealbum of the band, after the EP "mistelteinn". They're singing in german and Stefan Ottos voice is full of sadness but powerful in the end of all. There's no consolation, only solitude and melancholy. "Sturm" stands on the top of all, it's truly stormy. All the lyrics are inspired by the spirit from the turn of the century, three of them are by the famous german writers Gertrud Kolmar, Georg Trakl and Stefan George.
This pure acoustic music is dominated by the guitars but you will find also an bass, an violine and an accordion in it. The songs are like a dark call from the woods. Listen to them on quite places in moments of melancholy. Then maybe you will remember FORSETI, EMPYRIUM or ULVER but there's never the bitter taste of missing authenticity on "Vigil". On the contrary: no other band combines poetry, music and sound so close to a picture of humans in the woods and meadows…

Bloody Woods是四川新民谣歌者白水和朋友孤岛在2005年开始的一个Neofolk计划。乐团分别在2006年和2007年分别出版《Women In The Hole》，《Apocalypse Of The Sound》两张唱片。2009年初夏，白水在个人唱片《时间》和《冬》之后，和他的Bloody Woods的新专辑《Colour》重新归来。
《Colour》是一张全新专辑，包括10首Bloody Woods作品和三首翻唱民歌，分别是苏格兰民歌《Black Is The Colour》，犹太民歌《Orange Blossom Ring》还有著名的中世纪古曲《Ai Vist Lo Lop》。除了白水一首包办所有音乐的作曲、编曲、器乐演奏之外。众多客座人声的参与也是这张专辑的亮点。除了孤岛和袁田外，新古典乐团Whisper Of Tears的Lamia、比利时工业团Dead Man's Hill的Piette都分别献声于此唱片。
