It's no secret that this album, recorded and released at the end of 1972 polarized the band. It brought a temporary end to New Trolls. The reason was guitarist Vittorio de Scalzi wanted to continue the eclectic route of New Trolls and the other guitarist (and vocalist) Nico di Palo favored a hard rock approach. And because of that, the group split, with Nico di Palo forming a group that would become Ibis, and Vittorio de Scalzi, with some legal problems wanting to continue the New Trolls name, had to continue on as N.T. Atomic System. You could already tell that all was not well with New Trolls with their previous album, Searching For a Land, which was a double album set, with the first disc a studio effort emphasizing the style Vittorio De Scalzi preferred, and the second disc a live disc of all-new material showing with Nico Di Palo preferred.
Many people regard "UT" as the high point of the Trolls career, others call it an uneven mess with some fantastic material and tedious material. It´scertainly a leap forward from their previous album, as it's a much more focused album.
The album is very well produced, and the hole album is a totally killer.

Originally released in 1974 on the BASF label. They only made one album and then disappeared but this is definitely an obscure classic out of the '70s Italian progressive rock scene. A concept album (the music is actually a fable concerning the penguin Murple) with two long tracks that together are a little bit over 30 minutes. For fans of King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Le Orme. Miniature LP sleeve with original artwork.

Their final album, "Time Of Change" (1974), was their crown achievement in terms of musical dexterity, displaying neck­breaking keyboard pyrotechnics. Here The Trip used a very broad range of influences, from conventional music to avant-garde. Opus Avantra had a similar basic idea, but with completely different results, musically speaking. Their complex jigsaw never hung well together, whereas The Trip's work was more convincing. Most impressive was "Rhapsodia" (20:00), in the top class of Italian keyboard-driven progressive rock.

Classical influenced progressive rock of the highest class! The album opens nice with the acoustic and folky title-track. A very catchy progressive rock song follows with lots of great organ and Mellotron. The impressive adaptation of Beethoven's "Opera 21" and a 23-minute instrumental track with strong melodies in a relaxed pace close this work of the new quartet.

I CALIFFI performs a Progresssive rock sung in Italian and situated in the same category as the early Seventies bands, due to its use of wild and jerky rhythms on which blend excellent analog keyboard shapes & sounds with excellent vocals and scrumptious guitar work. Their music can be defined as close to that of GARYBALDI or FLEA but with nicer lyrical themes in the style of PFM.
"Fiore di Metallo" is a good prog album, based on organ and moog sounds, even if the lyrics are a bit naive and too close to the typical Italian beat themes. Some interesting keyboard passages, as in the instrumental "Varius" or the opening track "Nel mio passato", make this album worth listening.

Originally released in 1975, Area's third album is an eclectic furnace of Jazz-Rock, ethnic Folk, experimentation and an ethically conscious manifesto for the arising of the masses, which made Area an icon of the Italian music scene of the '70s.
