Griff Rhys Jones stars as bumbling eccentric Max, alongside Ruth Madoc, in a darkly comic tale of love, betrayal and reality television, created by Russell T Davies, the highly acclaimed writer of the TV dramas Bob and Rose, Queer as Folk and The Second Coming. Max Vivaldi doesn't have much in life, but he does have a dream. According to a faded legal document written in the year 1710, his family owns the whole of Swansea. The will has been passed down through twelve generations and is now framed on the living room wall of the Vivaldi household. His neighbours, his friends, even his wife and three children, all laugh at Max whenever he brings up the subject of his inheritance - just as his father and his father before him were ridiculed for their declarations. The Vivaldi claim is a running joke in this picturesque part of the South Wales coast. Max thinks he owns the area where he lives, known as 'the Mumbles', but everyone else thinks it's a load of mumbo jumbo. Until one day his incredible claim is proved to be true.

But when he worries he’s outlived his usefulness and the dissection table is drawing uncomfortably close, Paul escapes on the first RV that passes by his compound in Area 51. Fortunately, it contains the two earthlings who are most likely to rescue and harbor an alien on the run.

Complex, involved science-fiction series about a special force of interdimensional operatives whose task is to protect the universe from evil forces trying to gain a foothold by disrupting the timeline. The strange energy beings are assigned to cases, when and where needed, and materialise on Earth as humans, each with specialist abilities to ascertain and then solve the problems. The mysteries encountered by Sapphire, Steel and their colleagues include people trapped in photographs, ghosts lost in time, and a dinner party of guests who are all long-dead. Their most-dangerous challenge, innocuous-seeming at first, is a petrol station whose time-line is repeating endlessly - and which turns out to be a major hazard, set by unknown forces, to trap Sapphire and Steel in a closed time-loop forever... Two 19th-century opportunists become serial killers so that they can maintain their profitable business supplying cadavers to an anatomist.

Fitz has to increase his lectures at several universities as he is broke. The attentions of one of his pupils leave him unaffected until he realises that she may be involved in murder and harming his family.

Fitz, Penhaligon and the other officers at Anson Road C.I.D. attend Jimmy Beck’s funeral. Fitz meets Beck’s sister who asks him how her brother had gone so badly wrong. It turns out that Beck had talked about Fitz constantly when he rang home and his sister wanted to put a face to a “friend”. Penhaligon causes a scene at the wake when she gets very drunk. Fitz calls her a taxi and turns down her offer to go back to her house and sleep with her. Bill Preece/Nash, a 17 year old boy who is living in a children’s care home, breaks into the factory where he is doing work experience and is found by the foreman, Stuart Grady. There is an unspoken but palpable chemistry between the two and Grady lets Bill sleep on the floor in his flat. When Grady’s landlady, Mrs. Franklin finds Bill in the flat the next morning, she assumes that he is a rent boy and threatens to call the police. Grady is so distressed that Bill stabs Mrs. Franklin to stop Grady from being unhappy. She is only wounded and Grady has to deliver the fatal blow to prevent his friend from going to prison. Before they can leave the flat, Mr. Franklin comes home and finds his dying wife in the cellar trying to get out. He falls down into the cellar with her where he is later found by the police and charged with his wife’s murder. Grady is questioned by DC Alan Temple and tells him that Bill is his son. Fitz concludes that Mr. Franklin does not have the courage or strength to commit murder and that they are looking for two killers. However, he mistakenly assumes that it is a man and a woman team. Fitz’s home life is still extremely torrid since Judith seems to be going through postnatal depression following the birth of their son. She is also being increasingly drawn to Fitz’s brother as a source of comfort.
