小瀬村晶、ピアノアルバム。

これまでに発表してきた4枚のソロアルバムを始め、様々な音楽家とのコラボレーション、TVやWEBなどへの楽曲提供、ファッションブランドへのサウンドデザインなど、小瀬村晶はデビュー以降、様々な手法で自身の音楽と向き合い、それを発信し続けてきた。

今作「how my heart sings」は、そんな彼が最も愛する楽器である「ピアノ」と向き合い、昨年の春から秋に掛けて、歌うようにして紡いできた音楽の記録である。

秋の夕刻、鈴虫が歌う初秋に、大倉山記念館にて録音された本作品には、昨年春のピアノコンサートツアーのために書き下ろされた楽曲やコンサートアレンジに加え、荒木真 (saxophone) と白澤美佳 (violin) を演奏家に迎えた楽曲、そしてツアー後に自宅スタジオで作曲された楽曲が収録されている。

この作品はなによりも、小瀬村晶という一人の人間が、自身の心に映っては消えていく旋律をピアノという楽器を用いて歌うようにして紡いできた、とてもプライベートな音楽である。そして時折、心を寄り添うようにして演奏される二人の音楽家によるハーモニー。

芽吹の春から、静謐な秋へ。音楽は歌うように。

For the moments when youre truly helpless, you need something to make you feel as if there are worse things. During those moments, you need something to remind you that its silently miraculous that youre even able to be helpless. Its a damned miracle that blood pumps and you move, can be moved, can move others. Its a damned miracle that were filled with a bottomless jug of emotions that we can tap into and see what theyll do to us, what theyll arrange or rearrange. Were amazingly outfitted with a thousand chirping birds in our ribs that let themselves be known, that let out their peeps in chattered fits and then coast away with the day and its movable light. Whatever we find ourselves in, at any time, is merely a flirtation. It might drag on us and it might throw us into the brambles, but we must give ourselves over to something that will remind us that it is all just a flirtation - any and all of it.
The music of Olafur Arnalds is capable of reminding us of the nuances and the delicate awnings of our lives that we carelessly desensitize ourselves to. His lovingly orchestrated compositions are not what you would think of as uplifting in a defining sense, but they get you to a place where you are feeling things intensely and anytime youre able to stave off the numbness, youre doing something better than most. Youre feeling something and that should give you a reason enough to rejoice. These are suspended stories of hardship and beauty - never
knowing which one gets to eat and entertain that day. It could just be a little of both. He takes out into days that cook up good winds - winds that whip at the flap of the flags hung out to dry and winds that allow cars and some of those aforementioned birds make better time.
We listen to the notes and the melodies that Arnalds puts together and they leave us where we are, feeling like were watching our hat blow away. It was just lifted from the top of our head, by a substantial gust, and by the time we realized it, there is was a quarter of a mile away and rising, carried off to a death. We watch it as it goes and marvel at its good fortune, for a ride like that is a hell of a way to go.

Olafur Arnalds原来在家乡Mosfellsbaer离雷克雅维克偏壤的一个小镇上，他同时身兼多支Hardcore乐队的鼓手职务，先是替友人的乐团My Summer as a Salvation Soldier担任多项乐器伴奏，还获邀为美国Indie-Rock乐团Cursive担任德国巡回演出的伴奏乐手。Olafur Arnalds的个人音乐作品以钢琴和弦乐为主， 与其说是post-rock， 不如干脆说是modern classical。

Original soundtrack to the 2011 motion picture composed by Sigur Ros main man Jon Thor Birgisson AKA Jonsi. Written and recorded in short order, over four months this summer/fall at the famous Village Studios in Los Angeles and at the singer's home studio in his native Iceland, the soundtrack to We Bought A Zoo comprises more than half-an-hour of brand new music from Jonsi, including two full songs and nine achingly beautiful themes, plus songs from Jonsi's acclaimed solo album, Go, as well as what might well be regarded as Sigur Ros' most memorable tune, in 'Hoppipolla'. Orchestral arrangements on the score have been handled by previous Jonsi working partner, and 'Reader' soundtrack composer, Nico Muhly, who brings his quixotic genius to the string and brass sections.
