庫爾夥伴合唱團是一個美國爵士、藍調、靈魂樂、瘋克和迪斯可音樂組合，最初於1964年在新澤西州澤西市成立，名為Jazziacs。 在他們的音樂生涯中，經歷了幾個階段，從最初的純正爵士音樂，到後來的瘋克音樂和R&B，再到pop-funk合奏組，最後在千禧之年以一種現代electro-pop帶來了創新。

Weather Report之於Fusion(融合爵士)，就幾乎相當於Miles Davis五重奏之於Cool School(酷派爵士)一般，這支樂團不但是Fusion的開路先鋒之一，他們在創作，演奏及概念呈現部份，為整個Fusion樂派的發展描繪出清晰創新的行進路線：此外，也和Miles Davis五重奏一樣，樂團中每一位樂手在單飛之後，都在爵士樂壇上各自佔有一席之地－尤其是鍵盤樂手Joe Zawinul，以及後來為Miles Davis 所重用的薩克斯風手Wayne Shorter。 氣象報告樂團(Weather Report)1970年代最具影響力的融合爵士樂團之一，與John Mclaughlin領軍的Mahavishnu Orchestra、Chick Corea帶領的Return To Forever堪稱融合爵士三大樂團，也是壽命最長、藝術成就最高的爵士樂團。氣象報告成立於1970年，樂團中兩位靈魂人物Wayne Shorter和Joe Zawinul原是邁爾斯戴維士(Miles Davis)陣中的大將，與Miroslav Vitous、Dom um Romao等人合作創立WR，和後來加入的Peter Erskine、Jaco Pastorius等樂手致力拓展爵士樂範疇，舉凡搖滾、放克、拉丁音樂等各樂種他們皆嘗試融入爵士即興演奏中，企圖在樂手的對話與編曲中創造出嶄新的音樂型態。 一九七六年，備受注目的天才型樂手傑可．帕斯瑞斯(Jaco Pastorius)加入，更將氣象報告樂團推向另外一個高峰，在藝術與商業上皆獲得巨大的成功，專輯連年贏得Down Beat年度「最佳專輯」的榮耀，也獲得葛萊美獎「最佳融合爵士演奏」獎項，直到1986年解散前，氣象報告在樂壇一直扮演舉足輕重的角色。

Curtis Lee Mayfield was an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer, and one of the most influential musicians behind soul and politically conscious African-American music.

ZZ Top is an American rock band from Houston, Texas, formed in 1969. The group consists of founder Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill, and Frank Beard. Initially rooted in blues, ZZ Top's style has evolved throughout their career, with a signature sound based on Gibbons' blues guitar style and Hill and Beard's rhythm section

「萬花鏡」は全曲佐井好子の作詞作曲になるものだが、テイチクのディレクター・春名勇はエンジニアに伊豫部富治、プロデュースとアレンジャーに大野雄二を指名する。（余談だが伊豫部と大野は1973年に梶芽衣子のシングル盤の録音で出会った後、この「萬花鏡」で再会し、その後長くコンビを組んで名作を多数リリースしている。）音楽的な知識には乏しかった佐井好子が、大野に曲の構想を伝える中で作品を完成させてゆく手法は、伊豫部のミキシングによって、ブルージーなサウンドにダークなイメージと豊穣な感性を融合させたアルバムを彩ることになる。 佐井好子の魅力の核である歌詞は、このファースト作でその奥の深さをまざまざと見せつける。「青ざめた夜の精」「逢魔ヶ時」「したたりおちる空の赤み」「揺れる血の海」「サーカス団」「魔性の女」「死の淵」「血まみれの緑いろ」...。この一見残酷な言葉を巧みに歌詞に用いながら、その言葉通りの意味に拘束されることなく、まるで夢幻の世界を想像させる歌唱スタイルは、当時も今も比類なき存在だろう。 佐井好子自身によれば、当時は日本人であること、女性であることから感じる自分の居場所の根元的な不安感、不信感が、こういった歌詞を書かせたのだろうと語るが、そういった内省的な思索を一種の幻想詩として完成させ、鮮烈な音楽曲へと高めた彼女の才能にはひたすら感服せざるをえない。唯一「紅い花」は、つげ義春の同名漫画作品から影響を受けて書かれた作品で、「二十才になれば」のシングルカット時にはＢ面に収録された。 サウンド面では当時森田童子のバッキングも務めた石川鷹彦がギターを担当。加えて琵琶、鼓、尺八といった邦楽器が曲の陰影を深めている。表ジャケットは奈良公園の奥地で、裏ジャケットは琵琶湖の桟橋で撮影された。 （CD版解説より抜粋／JOJO広重筆） 全作詞作曲●佐井好子 全編曲●大野雄二 keyboard:大野雄二 A.Guitar:石川鷹彦 A.Guitar,E.Guitar:松元恒秀 E.Bass:岡沢章 Percussion:ラリー寿永 Drums:田中清司 Strings:新音楽協会 琵琶:平山万佐子 鼓:堅田喜作 尺八:村岡実 Producer:大野雄二 Director:春名勇 Engineer:伊豫部富治 Recorded At Mouri St.,Akasaka Music St.,Onkio Haus & Teichiku Suginami St. from May to June 1975. Zuma is the seventh studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, released on Reprise Records in 1975. Co-credited to Crazy Horse, it includes "Cortez the Killer," one of Young's best-known songs. It peaked at #25 on the Billboard 200, and has been certified a gold record by the RIAA.

The Eagles might have covered his song "Ol' 55," but Tom Waits was cut from a different cloth than California's other singer-songwriters--he suggested a scruffy beat poet who'd walked out of a forgotten scene of Jack Kerouac's On the Road. Waits's beatnik schtick could get old, and he developed into a much more musically adventurous songwriter in later years, but his second album contains some of his best early work, including the sweet romantic blues of "New Coat of Paint" ("You wear a dress baby, I'll wear a tie"), and his best hipster recitation, "Diamonds on My Windshield." Two songs are enduring classics: the doleful, dirge-like "San Diego Serenade" ("Never saw the morning till I stayed up all night") and the touchingly sweet "(Looking for) The Heart of Saturday Night" ("Stoppin' on the red, goin' on the green, `cause tonight'll be like nothin' that you've ever seen"). --John Milward
