One of the hottest selling tickets in town is to see the hugely popular “rakugoka”, or comic storyteller, Danshun. Danshun himself was inspired as a little boy to become a rakugoka after seeing the legendary Danshi. He had found his calling. After his resistant parents relented to their son’s pleas, Danshun at age 17 became an apprentice of Danshi, the man dubbed a “wunderkind” and “genius” of the rakugo world. He soon realized however how hard the training was, and embarked upon a rigorous existence in which he had to deliver newspapers to earn a living. Living with hardship and joys, Danshun and his fellow apprentices would eventually rise in the rakugo world. A resplendent cast comes together to depict the rough and tumble world of a man who loved rakugo above all else and was destined to fulfill a dream.

Tetsuo is a young man living in Tokyo, who falls in love with a deaf-mute factory girl. He has always felt jealous of his college-educated brother, but ultimately wins both the girl and his father's acceptance and support in a touching and refreshing way.

太平洋戦争の末期、北海道の寒村に疎開してきた園部家の娘黄枝子に、村長の息子剛一との縁談がおきた。黄枝子は気が進まぬが、一家がよそ者としてこの村で暮すには、断りきれぬと思う。祖母梅乃と母静子もそんな娘の心を察して返事をためらっている。弟の範雄は若い潔癖感からこの縁談に反対だ。そこへ、長男秀行が病気のため戦場から帰還した。剛一が大陸の戦線で残虐行為を犯しているのを目撃していた秀行は、早速この縁談を断った。村中の園部家迫害が始まった。ただ猟師の信太郎とその娘百合だけは別だった。戦友のいる仙台へ向う秀行は、村境まで送ってくれた百合にほのかな恋情を感じるのだった。ある日、買出し帰りの黄枝子は林の中で剛一におそわれた。黄枝子を迎えにきた百合が剛一にむしゃぶりついた。危機を脱した黄枝子は百合を救おうとし石で剛一をなぐりつけ二人は必死で逃げ出した。剛一の死が村に伝えられ、林巡査らが黄枝子を引渡せと信太郎の家に向うが、百合が猟銃をかまえて近づけない。黄枝子は警察へ行くというが、信太郎は彼女を百合と共に山奥の白雪小屋に逃がす。ここに至り、村人は暴徒と化し、範雄、梅乃、信太郎らが殺された。折しも帰郷した秀行は、争いをやめさせようと小屋へ急行したが、そのとき百合の胸は兇弾につらぬかれた。必死で訴える黄枝子の言葉で、村人たちはやっと平静にもどった。争いは終ったが、百合を呼びつづける秀行の声が悲しい。日本降伏の二日前の出来ごとであった。

Jubei is a masterless ninja who travels the land alone, lending his services to those with gold—or a worthy cause. His fearsome abilities have served him well, but a plot to overthrow the government threatens to end his wandering ways—and possibly his life.

The story follows Nozaki Haruka, a middle school student who transfers to a new school in a small town because of her father's work. Unfortunately, she becomes a victim of horrific bullying, but since the school will be closing in 2 months after graduation, no one is willing to help her.

Takashi and four of his classmates, fourth-grade students, cannot succeed in doing a back pullover around a horizontal bar. Their gym teacher warns them: they have one week to succeed; if they resign now, then, tomorrow, facing life difficulties, they will always run away and become bums. Furthermore, all five must succeed, if one of them cannot do it, then all of them fail. Takashi is really worried and wonders if he won't be always the loser who couldn't succeed in the back pullover bar exercise.

A delightful and moving coming-of-age story. One summer, three young boys take an increasing interest in an eccentric old man who lives alone in a house surrounded by an overgrown garden. The boys form a bond with the recluse and set about weeding and replanting the garden.
