Winner, 2017 APA Audie Awards - Middle Grade Book 12 is the epic finale to the New York Times best-selling How to Train Your Dragon series! The Doomsday of Yule has arrived, and the future of dragonkind lies in the hands of one boy with nothing to show but everything to fight for. Hiccup's quest is clear...but can he end the rebellion? Can he prove himself to be king? Can he save the dragons? The stakes have never been higher, as the very fate of the Viking world hangs in the balance! “Short chapters, clever slapstick, kid-pleasing character names and goofy, childlike drawings will keep even reluctant readers turning these pages—and chuckling as they go.” Publishers Weekly, praise for the series “The final chapter of Hiccup’s dragon adventures is spectacular from start to finish. Narrator David Tennant pulls out all the stops. Listeners will gasp in horror as battle-worn Hiccup, marooned on the Isle of Tomorrow, pursued by sand sharks and a vampire spy dragon, struggles to regain his lost memory with only an ancient sea dragon and an overeager, obtuse hogfly dragon for help. Tennant adds a few new voices to his repertoire, particularly that of the Druid Guardian, whose stentorian bellows silence even Alvin the Treacherous’s whining. Tennant uses an endless supply of unique Viking voices for the tribe members who sing badly out of tune and shout praise to Hiccup as he faces the dragon rebellion leader, Furious, in a final epic battle.” AudioFile

In Hiccup the Viking's misadventures, the stakes have never been higher, and it's friend versus foe to decide the fate of the world. In this, the penultimate title in the amazing story arc that began with How to Train Your Dragon, Hiccup is faced with a personal dilemma against the backdrop of an impending battle and the possible destruction of everything he knows.

As the son of a Viking leader on the cusp of manhood, shy Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III faces a rite of passage: he must kill a dragon to prove his warrior mettle. But after downing a feared dragon, he realizes that he no longer wants to destroy it, and instead befriends the beast – which he names Toothless – much to the chagrin of his warrior father.
