Urban album of the year / independent album of the year Dual 2006 aria award winner 2006 release. As a group that has been together for over a decade, Hilltop Hoods are no strangers to doing things the hard way with this album taking the listener on a lyrical journey through the good, the bad and the hard roads traveled that have brought them to where they are today. This much anticipated 15 track release caters to all tastes with a mix of narrative, party, posse and serious contemplative tracks. Hilltop Hoods re-arrange the English language to suit their tongue in cheek style and make listeners smile with their intelligent rhymes. Featuring infamous international guests, The Hard Road sees Omni from LA add his flavor to the jazz filled track Conversations From A Speakeasy, with UK Low Life Records masters Mystro and Braintax ripping it on Obese Lowlifes. Hilltop Hoods have also enlisted the services of fellow Oz Hip-Hop veterans Muph, Pegz, Funkoars, Mortar, Hau, Drapht, Vents and Robby Balboa on The Blue Blooded to create the freshest oz posse track to date. Obese. 2006.

Architechnology
Douban
Rubberoom genre: Hip Hop
release date 1999-01-01 publisher: Indus
With its full-length debut, the four man crew known as Rubberoom emerges from the depths of the Chicago hip-hop underground. Be forewarned: Architechnology is not filled with lilting, pop-style rap; rather, this is a challenging record brimming with a stygian beat attitude and cryptic lyrical exposure. MCs Lumba and Meta-Mo deliver steady, propulsively assured rhymes tinged with bits of postapocalyptic fervor over ominous beats concocted by the production team of Fanum and the Isle of Weight (a.k.a. the Opus). Tracks like "Smoke," "Lockjaw," "The Shining," and "Style Wars" not only contain lyrics painting pictures of mutant uprisings, telekinetic destruction, and survival of the fittest but also unleash a shifting sonic miasma of throbbing undulation, alternating between stark, minimalist beats and intricate, progressive compositions. Other tracks, such as "Acid," are awash in a shifting sheet of neo-orchestral madness, while "Sector Rush (Re-Built)" presents fluid lyrical exposure augmented by a shuffling snare-driven beat and wavering keyboard ambiance. If hip-hop noir is your thing, then Architechnology delivers the darkness with verve and finesse.
