本书供大学波斯语专业四年级学生使用，是国内第一本高级波斯语精读教材。 本书在选材上努力兼顾课文内容的多样性、知识性和趣味性。课文和阅读材料共二十课，每课包括课文、生词、注释、翻译练习和阅读材料。为了便于学生快速阅读，对阅读材料中的生词也作了解释。注释包括作者简介、重要的背景知识等。 另外，为了正确把握每个生词在课文中的确切意思，本书对每篇课文新出现的生词都依据课文中的意思注上对应的汉语释义，目的在于加快教学进度，增加学生的阅读量。
