Since their debut in the late ‘sixties, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young have functioned as the “town criers” of their generation. With songs like “Ohio” and “Find the Cost of Freedom”, CSNY were in the forefront of Vietnam-era protest and anti-war sentiment. Though fondly remembered for their harmonies and love songs, the band has never lost their political edge. “CSNY: Deja Vu” finds the band heading out on their “Freedom of Speech 2006” of North America, featuring music from Neil Young’s controversial “Living With War” CD. With “Embedded” reporter Mike Cerre aboard, the film documents audience reactions to the music and the band’s ongoing connection with its fans, all against the backdrop of the Iraq/Afghanistan War. The film also examines events surrounding the Tour in the crucial election season of 2006. Songs from the Tour are woven together with archival material, news footage, and audience reaction and observations, as the film examines the issues surrounding the integration of politics and art.

This film documents Neil Young and Crazy Horse's 1996 concert tour. Jim Jarmusch interviews the band about their long history, and we see backstage footage from the 1970s and 1980s

Documentary film covering Neil Young's October 22nd, 1978 concert performance at the Cow Palace.

In March 2005, Neil Young was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. Four days before he was scheduled for a lifesaving operation, he headed to Nashville, where he wrote and recorded the country folk album Prairie Wind with old friends and family members. After the successful operation and recovery period, he returned to Nashville that August to play at the famed Ryman Auditorium, once again gathering together friends and family for this special performance.

All Tomorrow’s Parties is a DIY concert film featuring performances from an eclectic mix of some of the most influential artists including: Battles, Sonic Youth, Belle And Sebastian, Grinderman, Iggy and the Stooges, Portishead, Mogwai, Slint, Grizzly Bear, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Gossip, Daniel Johnston and The Boredoms. The film is a semi-found bricolage made from Super8, camcorder and mobile phone footage contributed by over two hundred filmmakers, fans and musicians over the festival’s recent history, with key contributions from Jonathan Caouette (Tarnation) and Vincent Moon (The Take Away Shows, Arcade Fire). All Tomorrow’s Parties is a fiercely independent festival that many music lovers regard as one of the most important music events in the world. In an intimate and communal atmosphere, free of corporate sponsorship, it serves up a heady combination of alternative music, crazy golf and chalet-living, with musicians and fans living side by side. At each festival a band or artist is chosen to gather up their favourite artists who perform over a weekend in an out-of-season holiday camp by the sea. Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore described the festival as the ‘ultimate mix tape’.

此外还可以欣赏到The Grateful Dead、山塔那及Jefferson Airplane同台演出，Janice Joplin、Big Brother和The Holding Company一块热情演唱Ball and Chain，并重温Woodstock的盛况。

2011 film by Martin Scorsese

GET YER YA-YA’S OUT! is a chronicle of The Rolling Stones’ epic performance at Madison Square Garden in November 1969. Albert and David Maysles famously documented the Rolling Stones’ 1969 U.S. tour in the feature documentary Gimme Shelter, released in 1970. Now, Albert Maysles has put together never-before seen archive footage that shows the band — Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman — at its apogee, wowing New York audiences at Madison Square Garden over the Thanksgiving weekend of that year. Beyond the full-length performances of five Stones songs — presented in surround sound — the film includes a cover shoot, rare backstage footage, a mixing session and more. “27 minutes of pure pleasure. An intoxicating snapshot of the Rolling Stones’ 1969 tour, this irresistible time capsule captures the band before they were a brand, and includes glimpses of Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix.” – Manohla Dargis, The New York Times

With much of Mogwai’s recent output having fallen uncharacteristically flat, one could be forgiven for thinking that this release, a live album and DVD set, signals the once-great band finally running out of ideas. Yet while Special Moves/Burning offers nothing in the way of new material, it serves as a timely reminder of Mogwai’s immense talent and eternal ability to inspire.
