Young Shakespeare is a live album and concert film from Canadian folk rock musician Neil Young recorded in 1971, and released on March 26, 2021. Recorded three days after Live at Massey Hall 1971, during the Journey Through the Past Solo Tour.

The Caution Horses is the fourth studio album by the Canadian country rock band Cowboy Junkies, released in 1990. The first album following their 1988 breakthrough The Trinity Session, The Caution Horses features a more conventional, polished sound than that album's spare, haunting country blues. As a consequence, the album was savaged by music critics, who charged that the band had sacrificed their distinctive style.

"Colorado" is the first new Neil Young with Crazy Horse album since 2012's "Psychedelic Pill". The album will be released on October 25th and features 10 new Neil Young compositions. It includes several songs that Neil has been playing live in the past few months (eg: "Rainbow of Colors", "Green Is Blue" and "Milky Way"), and the epic 13+ minute track "She Showed Me Love". The vinyl version of the album comes with a bonus 7" single, featuring an album outtake "Truth Kills". The 7” also includes a live, solo version of "Rainbow of Colors" from Portland, OR, on May 17, 2019 - the first time Neil ever performed this song live. This incarnation of Crazy Horse is Neil Young on vocals, guitar, piano, harmonica and vibes, Billy Talbot on bass, Ralph Molina on drums and features the return of Nils Lofgren on guitar and piano, almost 50 years since he last appeared on a Crazy Horse album (1971). The album is produced by Neil Young and John Hanlon and was recorded in Colorado in April & May 2019.

The next chapter of Neil Young’s ongoing archival series will spotlight a concert he played with the Stray Gators at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa on February 5th, 1975. Titled simply TUSCALOOSA, it will come out June 7th on a single CD and a three-sided vinyl album with etched artwork on side four. “It’s from the period right around Harvest and Tonight’s the Night,” Young told Rolling Stone earlier this year. “For me, it’s edgy. It’s like those mellow songs with an edge. It’s really trippy to be down in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and singing those songs from Harvest and the songs that we were doing for Time Fades Away before it came out. I found this thing and it had such a great attitude to it. I just loved the whole night, so I put that together with [engineer] John Hanlon.”

When the then 21-year old Mac DeMarco released his debut Rock and Roll Night Club 12" in the Spring of 2012, it was accompanied by a barrage of bizarrely funny promo videos, wildly unhinged live performances and a not-so-subtle disparate range of promo photos. The glam facade was purely that, an image that was manufactured for fun to confuse the stiff and compartmentalizing world of indie music journalists. But it wasn t all a jest, as that EP covered a whole range of music styles that were latent in the ex-Makeout Videotape frontman s already impressive slough of cassette-only releases. The sincere and warm Mac who sang "Only You" was the same lipstick-wearing sleazoid that crooned "Baby s Wearing Blue Jeans" and that suited him and his listeners just fine. Six months later is his first proper full length, Mac DeMarco 2. As opposed to RNRNC, 2 is a concerted effort to produce a cohesive work that showcases Mac s natural ability as a songwriter, singer and producer. With a new arsenal of recording gear, the fidelity has substantially improved without compromising the immediacy and organic quality of his prior releases under any monicker. The results are immediately rewarding, from the warm "Cooking Up Something Good" to the heartfelt "My Kind of Woman. " It s obvious Mac is presenting himself musically in the most sincere way possible, no matter what happens in his wild videos or live shows. "Freaking out the Neighborhood, " Mac s apologetic ode to his loved ones about such public behavior, shows that Mac DeMarco is still with us, coming along for the ride, getting everyone else in trouble. Even so, the maturation process of Mac DeMarco, recording artist, is in full swing. He did, after all, turn 22 before this record.

Neil Young announced his plan to release Songs for Judy, a live album drawn from his November 1976 U.S. tour. The 22-song LP includes solo acoustic performances of all-time classics like “Heart of Gold,” “After the Gold Rush” and “The Needle and the Damage Done,” along with a number of rarer selections, including one song, “No One Seems to Know,” that has not appeared on any previous official release. Young spent the majority of 1976 on the road with Crazy Horse or on the ill-fated Stills-Young Band tour, which he famously dropped out of midway through that summer. He also found time to make Hitchhiker, the lost solo acoustic studio album that he recorded in August 1976 — three months before the shows documented on Songs for Judy — but kept in the vault until last fall. At the November 1976 shows featured on Songs for Judy, Young performed a solo acoustic opening set before returning to the stage for a harder-rocking performance with Crazy Horse. These shows have been widely praised and discussed by Young fans for years, but this is their first official release.

“It was the last night of his 1971 solo tour, and Neil Young walked onto the stage at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion unaware that the mic of “Jerry Rigged” would capture the entirety of this sublime solo performance. As a result, bootleg LPs emerged en masse and were scooped up by thousands of hungry fans. The Harvest LP was still one year from release the new songs contained herein were (and still are) amazing, and the only bone Neil and the suits threw us that year was the 4-Way Street LP, as fine and LP as it was. If you were a Neil/CSNY fan in the early 70s, you owned this LP in one of its configurations. There was “I’m Happy Y’All Came Down” on Rubber Dubber with its black gatefold cover ready for rolling, a rare Rubber Dubber version with a rubber stamped cover, the TMOQ version upon which they squeeze the entire show on two sides of colored vinyl, the double Young Man’s Fancy on Zerocks and abridged versions like the Live on Sugar Mountain LP. Besides the songs and wonderful performance, highlights include the unique snippet of “You and Me” that prefaces “I Am a Child,” and the response to the request for the song “Sea of Madness,” that prompts a Neil anti-bootlegging rap: “Wooden Nickel? Never heard of it. That’s a capitalist ripoff.” Ramblin’ Jack Elliot opened this show, but no recordings of his set exist. “Jerry Rigged” says that the original reel to reel master tape is long gone. All that remains are the LPs.”

Greasepaint Smile is the third studio album by Canadian folk singer-songwriter Elyse Weinberg, released in 2015 by Numerophon Records. Back in 1968, Weinberg released her self-titled debut to much success. The album hit #31 on the Billboard album chart and she appeared on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, in Newsweek and the L.A. Free Press, and at Shaffer Music Festival in NYC. However, a string of bad luck led Elyse to experience only minor success in the years that followed before she drifted into seclusion and changed her name to Cori Bishop. Greasepaint Smile is in fact Weinberg’s unreleased second album recorded and recanted in 1969, and more assured than its self-titled predecessor. Weinberg’s finger-picked acoustic is layered over distant drumming, while her gravel-pit voice evokes life, love, and mortality. Fellow Torontonian Neil Young sears "Houses" with his signature fuzz-tone, casting chaos over the beautiful ballad, while J.D. Souther, Kenny Edwards, and Nils Lofgren, pick up the slack. Produced by Young’s long time Crazy Horse partner David Briggs, the record is a lowdown stunner, loose and funky on songs like “City Of The Angeles” and the winking “Your Place Or Mine”, touched by the spirit on “Gospel Ship”, given to full bore blues rock on “Collection Bureau”, and achingly beautiful on “It’s All Right To Linger”. Over chiming acoustic guitars, fuzzed electrics, and a sympathetic rhythm section, Weinberg’s voice is ragged and sounds far too world weary than her 23 years should allow. Her words follow suit: “It’s all right to linger but it’s no good to stay/when you feel in your heart there’s a better way.”
