开场曲“The Emperor\'s New Clothes”舍弃华丽编曲，以纯净的钢琴伴奏，领御整张专辑的风格，与他早期专辑Tumbleweed Connection、Madman Across the Water骨子里的精神如出一辙。另外，他特别学习Burt Bachrach及Hal David风格创作了“This Train Don\'t Stop There Anymore”；同时也有相当贴近时事脉动的作品，像首支录制的单曲“American Triangle”，即讲述怀俄明州一名同性恋年轻人惨遭谋杀的故事，以及如“Tiny Dancer”般旋律隽永的爱滋病悲歌“Ballad Of The Boy In The Red Shoes”等。
