2009 release, the sixth studio album from the British Alt-Rock trio. With a 13 year history that takes in five studio albums, 10 million album sales, breakdowns, clean ups and the dizzy swell of global success, Placebo return with their first album since the release of Meds in 2006. Battle For The Sun was recorded over three months by producer Dave Bottrill (chosen by the band largely because of his work with Tool) in his Toronto studio and mixed in London by Alan Moulder. Battle For The Sun is a startling, alive, vital and boundary-vaulting record that marks a whole new era for a band that were in need of a change.

Placebo are an English rock band, formed in London in 1994 by vocalist–guitarist Brian Molko and bassist–guitarist Stefan Olsdal. Drummer Robert Schultzberg joined in late 1994, but left in 1996 shortly after the release of the band's eponymous debut album due to conflicts with Molko, and was replaced the same year by Steve Hewitt.

在这第二张专辑《Without You I'm Nothing》中，他们混合了70年代的两个风潮：Glam Rock和Punk。 Celebration of Friendship with Women》则注定是一首优秀的单曲作品。 You Don't Care About Us让人重拾80年代的吉他流行曲感觉。

05年Placebo终于加入greatest hits大军的行列，发行了他们第一张新歌加精选辑 - 《Once More With Feeling - Singles 1996-2004》。 《Once More With Feeling - Singles 1996-2004 》囊括了Placebo从95年成立96年发行第一张single到今年初非常成功的专辑《sleeping with ghosts》里面的所有单曲，另外还有包括他们最新单曲 《twenty years》和《I Do》。
