She discusses Tretchikoff, the artist behind the bestselling prints of the 50s and 60s such as the Green Lady, with Red or Dead founder Wayne Hemmingway, and meets Scottish miner-turned-painter Jack Vettriano, the artist who created the popular Singing Butler. Mondovino (in Italian: World of Wine) is a documentary film on the impact of globalization on the world's different wine regions written and directed by American film maker Jonathan Nossiter. It was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival and a César Award. The film explores the impact of globalization on the various wine-producing regions, and the influence of critics like Robert Parker and consultants like Michel Rolland in defining an international style. It pits the ambitions of large, multinational wine producers, in particular Robert Mondavi, against the small, single estate wineries who have traditionally boasted wines with individual character driven by their terroir.

Science is who we are, where we come from and what happens next. But how science established itself as the way for us to understand existence and to take control of our destiny is an integral, and often overlooked part of our nation’s story. In a new three-part series for BBC Two, Professor Brian Cox introduces Britain’s science heroes, taking us to the places they made their discoveries, recreating their experiments and examining the legacy left to their scientific descendants. He will find that the British tradition of innovation and discovery owes everything to the early pioneers and how the business of discovery and innovation is a process of creative inspiration, collaboration and true grit – an endeavour in which Britain has consistently set the pace. Professor Cox begins this intimate portrait of British science with a face to face encounter with Isaac Newton’s death mask. Starting with Newton, Brian investigates the personality of scientists, showing how their greatest achievement is the scientific method – removing personal bias in interest from discovery. He meets one of the few remaining people who worked on the wartime British nuclear bomb programme, whilst discovering the way in which the acquisition of knowledge can sometimes be at odds with public morality. Finally Brian meets the current president of the Royal Society, Professor Sir Paul Nurse, who reveals a new approach to the business of discovery in what he believes will be the most successful British biomedical research initiative ever – the Crick Institute, currently under construction in London’s King’s Cross.

Architect Albert Speer had grand plans to transform Berlin into a monumental Nazi capital for Adolf Hitler, and the buildings that remain from his scheme are still haunted by their terrible associations. There is no other city in the world where the morality of the architecture has been so heavily scrutinized. Buildings with Imperial, Nazi and Communist pasts all inspire fierce debates about whether this city should acknowledge or deny its chequered history. EP3：Ich bin ein Berliner The life and character of Berliners have been defined by a struggle for freedom. In 1963, President Kennedy declared that all free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Berlin. But centuries earlier, the rulers of the city offered freedom to the oppressed. Jews moved to the city from Vienna and eastern Europe, and were instrumental in creating the city as it now exists. During the Nazi years, however, Berlin's Jews were driven underground, many unable to leave the city they loved. When the Russians arrived at the end of the Second World War, Berlin's women found themselves at the mercy of rapists rather than liberators. Citizens became pawns in a global game through the Berlin blockade, and when the Berlin Wall was built, both East and West held themselves up as beacons of freedom. But only when it fell did Berliners attain the freedom that their early rulers had promised them.

“The Silence before Bach” is an approach to music and the trades and subjects that surround it through Bach’s works. A look at the profound dramaturgic relationship between image and music where the latter is not merely conceived as subsidiary to the image but as a subject of the narration in its own right. The film springs from a previously defined musical structure.
