No One Will Save You (2023)

Not sure the no-talking gimmick used here is really ever fully justified or even properly explained by the narrative of the film, but I can appreciate Kaitlyn Dever's performance and think some of the individual suspense sequences are excellent. What I'm more shaky on is the curious lack of tension linking these sequences together; I think I went in expecting this to take place over one crazy night during an alien invasion, and instead there's a lot of downtime between multiple nights of craziness. It felt like more of an exploration of the main character's PTSD and chronic anxiety, but I didn't feel like that quite mapped to the narrative either? I might need to give it another chance now that I know the basic shape of the storyline.
