X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)Not half bad. Good luck untangling the actual continuity and timeline of the last six films (plus "Wolverine" spin offs), but I had fun experiencing all of the wildly clashing tones that a late-model X-Men sequel demands from its narrative. In spite of what you may have heard, Oscar Isaac is oddly compelling in this movie, in spite of being encased in a ginormous wad of grape Hubba Bubba the whole time. It's still probably a good thing that nobody will recognize him in this, but he's not actually bad, per se. Those of you prone to bolting during the credits may also take comfort in knowing that this film features the most nothing post-credits scene to appear in any Marvel film in the past decade, so you are absolutely fine to leave once you feel your proper respects have been paid to cast and crew. It is (as I say) literally nothing, and will give comics readers less than nothing to talk about with their non-comics reader friends on the way home. (If Fox really knew what they were doing here, they would have figured out how to shoehorn Deadpool into the above scene, but whatevs.)
