a review of 小恶魔

Hmm, I really wanted this one to be more engaging and funny than it turned out. A bunch of early scenes are a tonal mess, and just kind of happen without much to really motivate them other than one's own knowledge of the supernatural/satanic thriller genre. None of it really comes together until the third act, and even then the actual dramatic and emotional stakes are too muddled to make the comedy pop in any particular way. I can see what they were trying for, and it just doesn't get there.
