a review of 反情色

This one was kind of insane, and now I want to check out the rest of Sion Sono's work. I don't know if I have the critical vocabulary to really explain what's happening here thematically, but it's like what would happen if a fullblown no-holds-barred art film suddenly chestburst its way out of a slightly fancy Japanese lesbian softcore video, and then spent the ensuing hour slithering around your living room, silently judging you. I don't know if it necessarily transcends its base tropes, but it's definitely trying for something.
