The Swarm (1978)

Good lord, this was like watching a cut-down version of a 12-hour long 1970s miniseries, except nearly everyone in it is a recognizable movie star, and it's also a snuff film. There is literally a full hour of exposition given to the denizens of a tiny Texas town, and none of it ends up mattering a half hour later. It's hard to believe that this movie is from 1978 instead of a decade earlier; it feels like such a cornball relic of older pop culture in its treatment of basically every aspect of its premise and setting that it's almost laughable.
