The Limits of Control (2009)

Maybe a bit too opaque and confounding in its themes to really get a handle on it during an initial viewing, and it's easy to see audiences getting impatient with this one. But it's still surprisingly recognizable as one of Jarmusch's languid road trips, albeit imbued with a level of metaphysical strangeness that isn't entirely out of place in his body of work, but noticeably elevated nonetheless. If nothing else, this movie made me want to take a train someplace.
