a review of 威利的游乐园

Astonishingly pure in terms of accomplishing exactly what it sets out to do (i.e. scene after scene of Nic Cage deep-cleaning a pizza arcade, taking pinball/energy drink breaks, and disemboweling animatronic mascots) to an extent that feels purposely fetishistic. If it weren't for the frame plot with the final girl, crooked sheriff and quickly-dispatched teen gang, this would be almost like a Game of Death-meets-El Topo deal where Cage is progressing through levels of Hell one oil-soaked robot carcass at a time. But ultimately it's just a silly Five Nights at Freddie's knockoff with a well-leveraged budget and a deeply weird silent-hero performance by Cage.
