A Perfect Black Comedy

Obviously, you don't need me to tell you Werner Herzog can direct a darn movie, but boy can he. Every shot down to a POV of an iguana is amazing. Just one of the most kinetic films he's ever helmed, perfectly fitting for the source material.

The film is essentially a black comedy, and it truly is consistently funny at every turn, hilarious even. It doesn't try to be a harrowing drama about a bad cop like the original, it knows that has been done and it instead decides to have a lot of fun with funny scenarios, funny lines, and funny performances. The supporting cast has Brad Dourif, Michael Shannon, JD Evermore, Val Kilmer, Shea Whigham, Fairuza Balk all giving fantastic small roles were they nonetheless stand out. Nic Cage is at his unhinged peak.

I have nothing bad to say about the film, note for note perfection.
