Solid 80s slasher

The Slumber Party Massacre - Review

While not an indispensable part of the horror canon or anything, this is a solid entry in the 80s slasher subgenre. It's reasonably tense, there's some fun gore (although not incredibly over the top), occasional humor (a character keeps barely not noticing a dead body stuffed in a fridge), and a fair amount of gratuitous nudity. It's slightly comical to watch the denim-clad vaguely rockabilly killer constantly trotting back and forth with drill in hand. This movie was written and directed by women, interestingly. The sequel is also fun, but silly in a more blatant way.
