Not for everyone!
Despite my (shallow-but-wide) familiarity with a lot of other Italian horror genres, cannibal films were sort of a gap in my movie viewing experience. I gave Cannibal Ferox a shot, and it was interesting. I expected racist depictions of indigenous peoples as evil cannibals, but to give the movie some credit, the locals mostly keep to themselves until provoked by some mercenary-minded white criminals who join up with the (out of their depth, but largely benign) anthropology student and her companions, then the bloodbath begins. There's quite a bit of graphic violence, but modern viewers will likely have a particularly rough time with the numerous scenes of unsimulated animal cruelty. The ASPCA certifies that ALL animals were hurt during the making of this movie. Taken as a whole, however, this is an interesting relic of a type of film that isn't really made anymore (notwithstanding Eli Roth's The Green Inferno).
