Fascinating time capsule

This 1981 documentary is an interesting look at the early hardcore punk scene in Los Angeles. Punk-wise, I'm more of a fan of stuff like The Damned and The Ramones over (pre-Henry Rollins, here) Black Flag and so forth, so I didn't end up rushing to add any of the bands featured here to my playlists. But the interviews were worthwhile. Especially the ones with the regular fans more than the band members. Some of the kids were racist or violent or dumb, but--more than anything--what came across was how palpably lonely they were. They had been let down by their parents, schools, and society, and just looking for some fellowship with people who could understand not fitting in.
