We did the Koondaii Loop track this morning and encountered a few birds along the way. Here are four of them.

A Grey Goshawk, checking us out.
A Brown Cuckoo-Dove.
A Rufous Fantail.
And a Bassian Thrush.

A Grey Goshawk perched on a branch, body facing left, head turned slightly to get a better look at us. The back half of the bird is obscured by foliage.

It has a Light grey head and underside, dark grey wings, orange legs and feet and nose, with black beak. Penetrating black eyes.

A Brown Cuckoo-Dove perched in a tree. It was in deep shade, trying to be unnoticed. It is completely shades of brown with the its cap being a slightly more reddish brown and the wings being darker brown.
It has a cream stripe below the eye.

A Rufous Fantail perched on a branch. It is facing the camera, with its tail partially fanned. Its head is turned to the left.

This small bird has a large fanned tail, that is rufous at the base changing to black and finally white tips.

The res of the bird is mostly brownish on the back, with a rufous face, white neck, and striated white and brown chest.

This Bassian Thrush was keeping its distance and quite tricky to get any shot of.

It is speckled brown and white, with more brown towards the tail. It's perched on a branch in the undergrowth, and is not as sharply defined due to intervening foliage.
