why are americans so damn obsessed with movies about pedophiles?damn, sean baker's other films are pretty much all in my top tier. this one, sadly is not. on the merits, this is a truly pretty incredible film...but...it's a truly pretty incredible film with a (highly likely) maga, groomer, pedophile, sex trafficker main character. so, my question is like why? why are we making a film about this absolutely deplorable (in every single way. not one redeeming trait i can identify) man?! it's not like magas (or people like this dude) are gonna watch it and have some come to jesus (lol) moment where they decide to stop being horrific people. as a character study it's kinda interesting...but c'mon like almost two hours of watching a grown man sex predator groom and have a relationship with a child? sean, please don't make any more movies about men. please.
