Never Rarely Sometimes Always (2020)

this is definitely not a good movie, but 3 stars for the fact the story is really only about the main character. it's not about any of the crappy boys in her life, including the one who got her pregnant. somehow too many narratives get this wrong. so kudos on that. the actors are soooo robotic in this...like truly excruciating dialogue to watch. the movie didn't give the creepy, predatory, psychopathic lady at the fake scam "pregnancy clinic" in their hometown a strong enough condemnation. at the end of the day, this is a movie about how broken and chaotic the us medical system is (including, and especially for accessing abortion care). it kinda felt like watching a 90-minute infomercial for how getting an abortion in the us as a teen works. it blows my mind there are people out there who don't know what a nightmare this process is, or how it works, but they are out there, and maybe seeing this movie would help? who knows.
