a review of 进入地狱

why is an old white european dude telling this story? so disappointing. this is not really a movie about volcanoes, it is a movie about anthropology and the way people historically react to and interact with volcanoes. what it amounts to is a film crew helmed by a white european dude wandering around the global south taking inappropriate footage in places they admit people don't really want them and telling condescending stories about other people's histories. the real turning point is when they devote serious air time to integrating actual north korean propaganda into the story they are trying to tell. this is freaking weird. skipped enough of it that it's basically a dnf.
