a review of 蓝色情人节

the fact that this intended to portray a "love story" (it's on the cover of the dvd) and additionally that our sick society believes this is a love story is an absolute abomination. yes, acting from the two leads is incredible, but this is basically the opposite of a love story. it's the story of a horrifically abusive man who becomes obsessed with a stranger and stops at nothing to possess her as a sexual object. he begins with literal stalking and harassment (these are illegal for a reason) then moves on to basically control every aspect of this woman's life. he is physically and emotionally abusive to her and others. he literally rapes her at one point. he is also, obviously, an abhorrent misogynist. the fact that the writers often paint her to be at fault for her own abuse is absolutely disgusting. this is absolutely the opposite of what we need to be teaching people about love. if this was written as a drama about abuse it would rate higher. but because the writers (including the female writers) are so delusional and misogynistic that they think this portrays love, 0 stars. "art" that is this much of a lie is not art at all.
