we had such lower standards for men in 1995. p.s. this depiction of how linklater conceptualizes 1995 mainstream straight woman feminism has not aged suuuuper well. the ethan hawke character contains some beautiful wonder and passion and also so much annoying cynicism and practicality. he contributes all the creepy and annoying parts (and probly would vote elon for pres, vom) and she contributes all the levity and beauty (inside and out). not hot kissing. they are both in lust (not even love) with the moment, the situation, not with each other. this would be like 1.5 stars if it was two americans who met on an amtrak in iowa.
