a review of 亲密

this is a love poem to every single soft, sweet, tender, loving little queer doing their best to survive the cis hetero patriarchy. truly incredible. this guy makes stunning movies. stunning. like a series of stunning stunning (visually, emotionally) portraits. incredibly creative pacing and use of time in this film, imo. eden dambrine is absolutely riveting. wtfff. the movie shows so well what is wrong with homophobic cultures, and it also shows so much of what could be right within those same cultures. i cried through at least half of this movie, and in a good way. (i know i've been doing that a lot lately. these movies are just gorgeous and therapeutic, i cannot help it.) i cannot wait to see more from lukas dhont. i might be rating this too low.
