Apocalypse in the Tropics (2024)this documentary does a pretty comprehensive job of highlighting the destructive power of christianity. sadly, it is also obsessed with painting the "good christians" as the foil to this destructive christianity, which is horrifically naive and foolish. quite frankly, it is utterly bullshit. the small pockets of christians who are not evil aren't going to save the world, and they are also not why lula won the 2022 election. please retell this story through the lens of the poor and working class that won him the election. please retell it alongside the stories of capitalism and racism that help bolster the likes of bolsonaro and trump. don't tell it solely through the lens of these opportunistic weirdo "good christians". it's not clear to me which bizarre forces combine to make christianity manifest as such a dark destructive force in some places. but what is clear is that a truly tremendous amount of human death and suffering for the past several thousand years is directly attributable to christianity. christianity more often than not turns out to be predatory and hateful. "christians" seem to mostly care about worshiping whatever rapists, swindlers, and abusers share the same hateful views they do. we must end christianity if we want any hope for future generations. absolutely moronic and terrifying. abolish chritianity immediately.
