a review of 帕特森

this is an incredible film. brilliant commentary on patriarchal society. (dunno if that's purposeful or accidental, but either way it is very strong.) i am kinda in love with this cis woman and cis man relationship. maybe deserves five stars on the broad strength of this movie's aesthetic choices on so many levels. potent use of humour. verging on pretentious at times but not enough to bother me. incredible story of imposter syndrome and feeling not enough and the grief and love that go into art and being an artist.
