T Blockers (2023)

love the vibe, love the aesthetic, love the characters. utterly confused by the belligerent refusal of the writers to actually tell a story though. insanely jarring plot holes. some of the popular reviews chalk this up to low budget, and that crossed my mind as well...except it doesn't actually explain what's lacking here. like...you can have your practical effects look like shit and we still know what's going on. what is puzzling to me is when every other scene the characters are having an empassioned convo about something that literally was not introduced to the world yet. and i mean with a 75 minute run time, we could have had like the three additional scenes that would have been necessary (and not expensive) to connect the dots. fucking kudos though for hitting this aesthetic on a low budget. maybe the writing will get more refined with practice? maybe it was actually the editing and not the writing? not sure. i'll definitely watch more from this director though. p.s. oh, and as a woke transsexual freak myself, gotta say some of the dialogue was a little too preachy and more clunky annoying than effective. like ya we get it women's bodies and fuck men and fuck chasers and fuck fascists and hell yeah for murdering men with field hockey sticks and also why is this girl eating birth control for her hormones in the year 2023.
