a review of 性爱巴士

this movie is nothing short of a masterpiece, and it's baffling it's not rated much, much higher. the movie is funny, raunchy, horny, bombastic, goofy, slightly sad...and through all that it is beautiful and joyous and utterly so so heartfelt. this is a really rare achievement, and i cannot think of another movie that blends goofy, horny queer (and not queer) culture with sooo much poignant love. absolute kudos to john cameron mitchell for this feat. this is one of the most important and most impactful queer films i'm aware of. john cameron mitchell has the writing credit, but the end credits indicate the plot and characters had input from the actors. i think that's likely part of the magic. cannot wait to watch 'the making of shortbus' to learn more about it. i have no notes. i might be rating this too low. just watch it.
