The Long Walk (2025)"it's almost over, say something real," is one of the most meta movie quotes of all time. yuuup, definitely a real bland movie adaptation of a probably pretty bland book (written by a straight white man in nineteen seventy nine) that seems really hard to adapt into a movie. stuffed with bullshit philosophy and deeply phony sentimentality. yes, men are generally fucked in the head, but there is literally zero part of me that believes young men would voluntarily enter a contest with a ninety nine percent chance of death just to be able to experience some weird form of camaraderie for like two days. nonsensical concept. it's possible that there are one or two decent acting performances in here, but it's basically impossible to tell because the world building and character development are utterly nonexistent. please for the everlasting love of this great country and the long walk that sustains it (sarcasm)...stop adapting. this man's books. into movies (full stop). there are fucking fifty movie adaptations of this man's books (not kidding) and like forty six of them are total crap (not sarcasm).
