thiss definitely has flaws. there are lots of critiques i could make...but y'all, i really don't feel like it right now. there were times during this when i considered giving it less than five stars...but i *am* giving it five stars. i think the idea that art can be impactful enough to earn itself five stars despite some notable flaws is incredibly beautiful. this is at the tippy top of art that's telling trans stories for me. up there with "girl" and "pose". it starts good and just keeps getting more good. so much more good. inspired, brilliant directorial decisions at so many points. several inspired, brilliant acting performances. so multi faceted. if you give any fucks about trans people please watch this (unless you *are* trans, then do whatever you want, i'm not your mom, and also i love you so, so much).
