(for the record, both movies are not good, they just have kindred spirits.) i don't get it. what is the point of this art? how did those youths get twenty seven million euros of fireworks? why would they wanna destroy their own neighborhood? (edit: it does go down kiiinda that way sometimes, but this felt different... like destroying your literal own home.) the cops kill kareem and then just disappear? this isn't how things work. this isn't making any kind of interesting statement and it's also not telling a good story, so wtf. why does the strongest messaging in this feel like copaganda. what in the actual fuck this hurt my brain.
