LA 92 (2017)

an incredibly important story to tell, but told in a kinda flat and featureless way. don't get me wrong, the footage is all raw, disturbing, captivating, brutal, exceptional. the issue is that in this unfocused presentation, it all blends together and nothing stands out. there's no story. it was the visual equivalent of reading the wikipedia article...except kinda less engaging. while we're here i wanna get my shots in at the anarchists. your shit doesn't work. it's juvenile. i'm not condemning these riots, necessarily, but if you had that many people willing to risk severe legal repercussions, think what you could have actually achieved if you organized. americans, and anarchists specifically are never going to learn this though, and therefore we're destined to continued oppression at the hands of our government. with all due respect to maxine waters, i honestly don't know much about her, dunno if she's legit, or just another neolib capitalist...but el oh fucking el, no ma'am this was not an insurrection or a rebellion. there was no focus or aim of this, it was literally just a riot, a relief valve, an expression of grief and rage. with that many people, it **could** have been an effective movement, but of course americans wanted to just go get armfuls of items to take home. damn shame. organize, y'all.
