All Before You‎ (2025)

a masterpiece in many regards. this film is an absolutely astonishing accomplishment. an incredibly haunting telling of the horrific nature of genocidal occupation (terrorism). there is not much to say about the nations of the uk, isr@el, and the us aside from the fact that they are and always have been run by genocidal monsters. each of these nations is an illegitimate terrorist state. the writing is incredible. the first half was very, very slow and was starting to lose me. with about forty-five minutes left in the film it became abundantly clear to me that both the pacing and the breezy nature of the first half were completely intentional. the gravity of every single action taken by a character escalating rapidly as the film progressed. the pace and the anxiety (yet still calm and purposeful) escalating rapidly as the film progressed. the very clear breaking point. the standoff scene at the cave towards the end...one of the most brilliant and poetic scenes i've seen. how obviously intentional it is that we don't see the grenade explode. the music. the acting. phenomenal. the skill with which so many stories are not only balanced, but also all essential to the overall story being told. i've not seen many films that can hold so much detail so well. sure, there are some critiques i could make, but i don't want to. i'm also sure there are flaws in the politics. i don't care. i don't think it's possible to tell a story about these horrific events that actually happened (are still happening) without there being flaws. that is too much to ask. free palestine. land back. everywhere.
