this is honestly a really raw and candid and beautiful and radical archival document. doesn't touch on gender dynamics much at all, but touches on so many other important things and provides context and relevancy for certain things that are essentially the same today as they were then (and other things that are quite different as well). no way in hell i'd be alone in a room with skeeter. there are so many baddies in this.
