a review of 活死人之夜

not sure why this was so good, but forty-five minutes in i felt like i'd only been watching for twenty minutes, so that probably has something to do with it. the lighting is all over the place, but whatever. the acting from duane jones kinda rules everyone else is lol. and these two facts still don't derail this wacky little horror sci-fi thriller. i think mainly they just don't write dialogue like this anymore and the dialogue kinda rules even when it's at its worst. there's just this dread of these fucking lil guys who won't stop coming for you. so many lil guys just wanna eat you right up up. hungry hungry, mad mad mad. the practical effects look so good especially on this piece of shit film. could not get enough. so gross. wild to me that in a nineteen sixty eight horror movie there is more misogyny (a good amount) than racism (basically none). kudos for that. the whole sci-fi radiation story line is honestly so great. such dumb, fun bullshit. the ending sucks ass i do not get it.
